Features: Gibs most NPCs, pierces most props Dewelds, unfreezes, explodes, and generally causes havoc. It is messy and it will leave stains. I do not recommend using it in enclosed spaces. Well ventilated areas are advised, unless you enjoy breathing in blood. I do not endorse it's use in multiplayer, and it comes with 0 guarantees. Awesome! You should keep both models, and put a scope on the old one. Have the first one be a repeater or a cannon and the old one be a sniper-type weapon.

Proudone gave me a sound effect, and it's nice and all, but I won't be using it since I'm happy with the current noises. The weapon is basically a railgun, not a laser :P Entoros, the displacer has no muzzle attachments, so I had to mess with the effect and be a little bit hacky to make it work correctly. The unfortunate side effect of this is that the old model won't have the effect lined up properly, I could make new effects and stuff for both, but I'm much happier with the displacer model (though I miss the scope too.) Maybe I'll do a kilburn and attach a scope on the front :P Instead of a scope, I'm thinking about putting in a secondary fire, does anyone have any ideas?

But is not displacer! The displacer would be an entirely different weapon. It would be convenient already having tele-gib effects though.
Teleport into a targeted npc or player to gib them? Fire a dart grenade that explodes, gibbing the tagged npc or player after 3 seconds? Short-range Mass Driver Chainsaw?
Something to do with magnetism, it's already a railgun. Perhaps a suicidal overload (tau cannon style, but BIGGER)
Maybe draw all heavy props near an NPC to crush him TO DEATH.
My suggestion for alternate fire? Super-ungodly-holy-shit-huge blast. The downside? Becoming either a grease spot on the wall/floor behind you or a quickly fading spot in the sky from the recoil.

I just tested it and found it incredibly fun. Im not really into shooting NPCs with it, but its awesome for Laser-Jumping.
Yeah I put in some special code to let you bounce around rocket jump style. Definitely made it more awesome. It's like the tau cannon from HL1 on steroids.
My new favorite transportation device :love: I havent even spawned a car after I downloaded this.

Love it. My only suggestions would be to increase the damage the a non-direct hit with this does and increase the impulse applied by this weapon, to make laser jumping more fun and viable. Also, I don't think this shows up on GMod.org outside of the link you posted. (search mass_driver and you get nothing.) Heck, searching your name yields nothing, either.
I'm loving it, adding this to my dedicated server right away. Will be fun blasting my forts apart.
I haven't tested it extensively online. The main thing is that clients won't download the particles or the models because I didn't add them as files. Even if you set it up to download the models and particles they won't see the effects until they reboot gmod. Good luck with it.
Yeah i didn't set it up for people to download the particles and models as people just winge about it then, and a restart is required for particles. But we had a great time blowing apart a fort i made with 2 people inside.

So... are you going to update this ? it's pretty awesome, i think it deserves bugfixes and secondary fire.
Personally, I don't think it needs a secondary fire because it'll either pale in comparison, or completely outdo the original one, and I'm quite happy with the current primary fire. Bugfixes on the other hand, maybe. What bugs in particular?

What bugs in particular?[/QUOTE] So far it's mostly with spawning the "red mist" when it hits an NPC, some npcs only fly backwards, others refuse to die, alyx explodes but doesn't die, she needs 2 hits and stuff like that... take some take to shoot some npc's and you will find out. Oh and one sugestion: make striders explode when hit by it, maybe spawn some fancy particles ? right now they just fall to the ground, if they exploded the thing would look a lot more dramatic and kewl. Like the magnusons.

Just so I can charge it up and rip props off at higher speeds. Even if it uses all the ammo. It feels like that would fit in well with the animations it has.
