• Should I continue with my gamemode

Hey guys, I was recently working on a APB styled gamemode for garrysmod, however my games development and my girlfriend got in the way. Since I recently broke up to her, should I continue? Here are some pictures of the HUD and scoreboard, you basically rank up and get small armour/kevlar upgrades then fight other players. I hate APB, but if you can make it fun, then by all means, go for it.
Did a thirdperson mode.
But yeah, definitely go for it. :) also third person [editline]20th April 2012[/editline] Woow, fuck you too then, ninja and broke my merge.
Hehe, what should I work on next?

If you get rid of rocket launchers and extremely OP premium guns I'd say this might be something worth checking out
I'm one for eye candy, but that's just me. I really like it when a gamemode has nice visuals.
If you get rid of rocket launchers and extremely OP premium guns I'd say this might be something worth checking out
I'm keeping rockets, however I am making them more expensive. Also the way the match making works it actually takes the players weapons into effect. Each weapon getting its own threat level.
What about remaking the scoreboard to look like this:

Hey guys, just letting you know I'll be opening a public test server on the Gmod 13 beta
66.150.214.207:27015
Got a dedicated server up and running, I'll update it every Friday or try to as I do lead a busy life.
I love APB, but I hate how much CPU it consumes. please keep going with it.
Did garry disable renaming threads?
Advanced edit the original post, that works? Or just make an official thread and get this one closed later on.
Advanced edit the original post, that works? Or just make an official thread and get this one closed later on.
It won't let me go advanced.
Looks very good so far. Quite impressive indeed, maybe the Player Models could be the Rebels along with GMan for the Outlaws and Combine Soldiers with the Metro Cop as the Police Models or even Citizen Cops perhaps? Anyhow will there be custom SWEPs in this gamemode or will it be basic weapons? Also good luck on your gamemode buddy
If you're motivated to make it, do it. Don't force yourself to make something.
Don't get me wrong, the idea is amazing but... Why would you want to recreate a game that is free? It's a honest question, no insult intended.
Also APB requires fucking 4 GB of RAM that not eveybody has. GMod is much less resource intensive and can deliver almost identical gameplay on a shit PC.
Also APB requires fucking 4 GB of RAM that not eveybody has. GMod is much less resource intensive and can deliver almost identical gameplay on a shit PC.
I have 24GB of ram, does that make me a winner?
2004 called...
I got this laptop in December 2010 and it only has 4GB, and it's not a low end laptop by far.
I have 24GB of ram, does that make me a winner?
I have 64GB of ram.
The point is that GMod is one of the very few games that don't lag on my PC even when maxed or almost maxed out. Meanwhile I can't even start up APB and this gamemode will give people like me a chance to enjoy a similar experience. Afterall APB is not better than GMod in any aspect. It doesn't have some super realistic physics that gmod doesn't. Nor the graphics quality is much higher.
2004 called...
What?
I had 2gb of ram til like 4 years ago, dont hate, that shit ran everything.
4 Years ago I could run every game out there maxed out on my 22" LCD monitor. Hell, I could run 2 games at the same time (for example TF2 and some MMORPG). Also my RAM is really slow (for today's standards). It's DDR2 and it runs at 667 MHz or 800 Mhz. Compared to DDR3 which is better in every aspect and can reach clocks up to 2333 MHz.
guys i think i have 50 tb of ram
I got this laptop in December 2010 and it only has 4GB, and it's not a low end laptop by far.
I run on an HP NC6400. It's got a T2400 processor (dual core), and 2gb of RAM. It runs APB on lowest settings fine (can't remember what graphics chipset I have, I believe a mobile Radeon).
Well, I have a Toshiba... Yup...Yup
