[BUG FIX] Jailbreak 7 by Excl - SPECTATORS CAN USE BUTTONS

Basically, if you switch to the spectator team .. clicking "spectate" in the team selection menu you could press buttons like the cell door open/close. this prevents that from happening, so after this spectators CANT use buttons

This was bothering me for a while so I went ahead and fixed it for myself, figured I'd share it with anyone who's using jailbreak 7 by excl

add it to the bottom of jailbreak/gamemode/core/sv_spectator.lua

im new to lua so if theres anything stupid in this... lol whatever

(and if this was posted before, sorry but people don't know how to use the search function on any forum ive ever been on ever)

Yes, you need it cause hooks are global

I'd ditch the return true. It has potential to override any other addons which may want to return false in the PlayerUse hook.

Actually, every jailbreak gamemode seems to have some weird death system when you're not actually dead when you're dead, you're on another team or just not an active player, it's strange and I don't know why it was chosen to be like that

It uses TEAM_PRISONER_DEAD and TEAM_GUARD_DEAD... When you die your team switches. It is actually quite helpful and is easier to use.

Obviously this isn't all of the gamemodes, it's the coder preference. Oh and dead people aren't meant to be able to use buttons... This defeats the object.

Sorry, but thats not really fixing... It's just editing to your preference. I purchased the gamemode in early beta for 170$ before it was on Coderhire and I spent ages testing it and all the bugs were fixed in the next update. There were no bugs on it.

Well, take a vanilla Jailbreak, switch to spectator, then press CTRL and go press the button that open/closes cell doors. Works, thats why I did this hook..

You aren't meant to open doors or use buttons while dead on ANY jailbreak gamemode. There is no such thing as 'Vanilla'.

But whatever. If you like it this way and you want to start sharing little scripts then I commend you for trying. C:

no im saying i added this because before i could open doors while on the spectator team, dead or alive doesnt matter you can open them as a spectator, this fixes that

Well I bought it off Coderhire and the dead/spectators were definitely opening the cells and able to use any buttons they wanted on the map, I don't understand why you are ragging on him for trying to help people.

it was sold on Coderhire, which now closed. You can't get it anymore. But somewhere in the deeps of the Gamemode and Addons Release subforum, you can find an Gmod13 version of Jailbreak.
I suggest taking an Lamp with you. It's dark down there.

Already done, there was an update to the gamemode the other day which includes this fix, but a more legit way than I've done.

Kurt doesn't sell JailBreak though, does he? I remember him being really strict about selling it when he owned Casual Bananas, but he sold all of his gamemodes, including his Administration System and websites for $700 USD. Also, try not to contact him guys, he's a pretty big ass in my experience.

I probably missed this bug because nobody reported it while testing. I fixed it a little while ago now.

The reason it was there in the first place was because I normally copypaste a lot of essential fuctions, like this, from a 'skeleton' gamemode I made over 8 years ago (february 2007 (!)). I did not use this 'skeleton' this time, for it still had a lot of retarded garry's mod 12->13 related stuff in it.
