Once time to build runs out, the water level rises and you better hope your dingy floats, otherwise you'll drown. Once the water reaches the top of the map and players are on their vessels, guns are given to players and an epic fight ensues to shoot other players' boats and make their raft sink, taking their enemy with 'em. I've always been a huge fan of Flood, so I decided to develop one for LifePunch. We've hence been developing that gamemode for the past three months, pretty much every fucking day for 7 hours non stop and it's been a lot of fun. We playtested with some of our players and they really like it too, so I figured it'd be a nice way to get new players into the community by announcing this big addition to LifePunch here. As always with every single LifePunch gamemode, we've got the usual awesome custom menu/HUD for which I've spent a lot of time making user friendly. I won't bother showing screenshots of all that and listing all the features because you can find them on our Bunny Hop Gamemode thread. Our Flood gamemode is also using our custom Jukebox that is available on all of our other gamemodes too. Players can even upload .mp3 files themselves and then play them on the server for everyone to hear. Players can request songs that have been uploaded in the past, report a song or bump a song they want to listen to sooner. Snazzy. I want to focus on the features we've got in place for Flood: Pirates! And please, if you have any suggestions, let me know. We've been releasing updates almost every week for LifePunch and it'll be very easy to implement your suggestions to the gamemode. If there's anything you don't like or you feel is missing, just let me know and I'll see what I can do. Lots and lots of props to use, all of which I've painstakingly taken the time to balance so none are OP. You'll notice we display the buoyancy of every prop, keeping in mind that the player's buoyancy is around -8.2, it makes it easier to know whether or not your boat is gonna float and sustain your crew even before you test it. There are also special props. Right now, a cannon you can attach (or many of 'em!) to your boat and press E to make it fire. There is also a pretty neat propeller. Attach them to your boat to be able to steer it and make it move forward. http://lifepunch.net/s/KlkLT.mp4 We have a ton of unlockable guns you can spend your hard earned Doubloons on. From pistols to magnums to machine guns. Also, there are special unlocks such as lazer guns, a harpoon gun, a fire extinguisher, a hand cannon, a melon shredder, etc. We have a pretty sweet Crew system that lets you create or join a crew. If you decide to create one, you can pick a color and name and send invites or kick players from your Crew. Being in a crew means you can enter each other's private rooms and stand on each other's props. You can also give prop rights to one of your crewmates so they can manipulate your props. Every now and then, a round will have a "special event" and the gameplay changes for that round. For example, ROPE IT! only allows ropes, no welds. BOOM TIME! gives everyone hand cannons. HURRY NOAH! only gives you one minute to build instead of the usual 7. BOARD THA' SHIP! strips your weapons, but gives you a crowbar and a harpoon gun and you have to try to board others' ships and kill them with the crowbar. Also, our special-er event, THE FLYING DUTCHMAN is actually an epic boss fight with a huge AI controlled ghost ship that flies above the map firing cannons at everyone. If all players team up and defeat it, they're all rewarded with a big sum of money. It's really fun. Part of flood that can be very annoying for new players is being dominated all the time by a player or team that has all the late game guns. We have two solutions to that. Our first solution; The Pirate King. Every round that isn't special, a player is designated as a Pirate King and has a bounty set on their boat. Meaning that attacking that player's boat OR the boats of anyone on his crew (since they usually build one big boat) will yield TWICE the reward that you usually get for shooting someone's boat. This causes them to have an extra challenge and people tend to focus them instead of the new players. Of course, the Pirate King is also rewarded with extra experience and LP$ (currency for cosmetics). Also, unlocks are not that expensive. You can get unlocks fairly quickly, even more so when you're a new player since new players will get a doubloons boost for their first four levels, meaning they get money faster than other players while they're trying to learn the game. This helps them get some starting weapons faster and not feel stuck with the starting pistol. When a round ends, stats will be displayed to praise pirates that wrestled the seas with honor and might! We also have a leaderboards showing all times best pirates on LifePunch. We have several anti-minging techniques. Notably, if you enter a private room, it will instantly "lock" behind you. No need to press a button or argue who was there first. Your crewmates and you will be able to freely go through the door while others will be blocked. Also, props can't be thrown in there, the door blocks them. Also, you can not prop push players or their boat. It just won't work. We have a very expansive levelling and experience system. You can earn experience/levels on each of our gamemodes, including Flood. Also, you can unlock achievements by reaching certain levels or completing certain tasks. Each achievement you complete grants you a title you can equip to show off your achievements. :D We also have several maps, lots of them were custom made for LifePunch. You can nominate a map and vote for the next one too. You won't get bored by playing the same map over and over again. Once you have every single unlock and enough Doubloons, you can Ascend to the next ascension level. By ascending, all your guns and doubloons are reset, but you get to use special, unique props in your future boats and you get some other pretty sweet rewards. Unlike other flood servers, you won't get bored by having nothing to do once you unlock everything. http://lifepunch.net/s/GdYVY.mp4 So that's that. I hope you give it a try and let me know what you
Hey look that's me in the leaderboards (LucyLu) Gamemode is a lot of fun and I spend way too much time on there tho
It's a shame all good gamemodes are hosted in the other side of the world..
Made a FP account just to post on this thread. I'm Markus in the Leaderboards screenshot. This version of flood is amazing and you should give it a try. Monkeys and Drew have put in loads of time into the gamemode and you can see the results from the screenshots alone. Highly recommend!
It's a shame all good gamemodes are hosted in the other side of the world..
Hey. We actually have quite a bit of aussie players and you'll find our specs are definitely up to par. It's still very, very playable for aussies. Is there something in specific you mean? I did try to keep the same color palette and fontstyle as I usually do. But I know what you mean. I'll look into it!

I'll look into it!
Thanks!, If you think remaking the derma will be a pain in the ass, look into making a derma skin that will just require you to set the skin on the parent frame and the rest will be done its-self. It would be a lot less work for you,
Thanks :3 Now get on the damn server and kill some pirates. ;)
This is the release section, not the server advertisement section :)

Today's update: [ Click here to connect to Flood #1 ] CHANGELOG - 02.11.2015 ADDITIONS - Ready up system on flood. If everyone readies up, we skip the rest of the building time and directly move onto stage 2. - We now show you when you can send some doubloons again. - You can now rename crews. - Profit/loss is now displayed in chat too, at the end of the fight. CHANGES - Considerably buffed the Lazer Uzi. It now starts recharging after 1 second of holding it and will charge up to 20 bullets. - Balanced /gamble - Increased winches limit to 8. - Static cannon buff: cooldown from 30s to 15s for firing it. - Propellers buff: they are now lighter (-3 buoyancy instead of -6) and they push twice as strong. - Pirate King no longer happens during special rounds and special rounds aren't accounted for damage. - Pirate King will no longer happen every regular round, sometimes it won't. - Jukebox now costs 25 LP$ instead of 100 LP$ for requests. FIXES - Fixed a bug allowing players to use balloons to prop push. - Fixed a lua error. - Fixed a bug where zooming would get stuck if you were still scoped in when the fight ended. - Fixed bug that would display incorrect "highest profit". - Fixed exploit with winches, ropes and sliders' widths. Please enjoy. :D Thanks!
Today's update mostly affected our DeathRun servers ( www.lifepunch.net/servers ) but some of it was Flood related too. ADDITIONS - DeathRun Arcade: Roll The Dice. You can now type rtd, /rtd or !rtd in chat and receive an effect that can be good, bad, or just funny. Regulars can roll the dice every 60 seconds. VIPs can roll every 50 seconds. - DeathRun Arcade: Autohop. You can now toggle autohop by typing !auto or clicking the checkbox on the right. - DeathRun Arcade: Velocity, Spectators, Keypresses are now displayed on the right. Keypresses are only for spectators. - All DeathRuns: DeathWeight system. Everyone starts at 0 deathWeight. Every round you play without being death, it goes up by 1. Players with the most deathWeight get chosen to be death. When you play a full round as death (being afk/lazy doesn't count, there's a system that watches that), your deathWeight goes back to 0, meaning you won't be death again for a while. It is no longer random. - If a server is changing maps, restarts or disconnects, you get a notification that allows you to simply click a button to reconnect. No more typing retry in console. - Hitting esc will close out of most windows/menus (F1 menu, inventory, store, rules, etc.) CHANGES - Set all deathrun servers to 26 slots. - Renamed deathrun servers to "Arcade" and "Pro". - Flying Dutchman will never heal more than twice. - Complete rework of the Pirate King system. You're less likely to become pirate king if the damage you've done isn't considerable. - Drastically increased DBL gain for new players. - Slightly increased DBL gain in general. FIXES - Fixed a bug that would cause rooms not to close on Flood when entering them.
