What is MWG?
MWG is a recreation of Call Of Duty in Garry's Mod, although this sounds very cheap and seems like another gamemode in a some-what
over saturated market of "Shoot em up" gamemodes we wanted to create something that is both fun for us to create and for the community
to play, with elements that help us stand out from the rest, such as three different gametypes - Team death match, Gun Game and Domination
running on two 24/7 servers. Different gametypes help keep a variety in gameplay and keep players interested.
Current Features
Class Creation
Just like in COD users are able to create their own classes with different weapons, attachments and skins. Weapons are unlocked by leveling up,
attachments are unlocked by leveling up each weapon individually and skins are unlocked by completing challenges or mile stones such as
getting 1000 Headshots or getting 5 triple kills. Extra skins can also be obtained via donation.
Calling Cards & Emblems
Users are able to edit their calling card. Calling cards have two different parts, an emblem and a background, both emblems and backgrounds
are unlocked by completing challenges and milestones. Extra emblems can also be obtained via donation.
Kill Streaks
Currently in a basic state, the kill streaks are implemented in the same way as most COD games. Users are not currently able to customize
their kill streaks as of yet, although we do hope to add this feature when we add more kill streaks. The current kill streaks are - UAV,
Counter UAV and VSAT. The UAV scans over the map and shows enemy's positions for a period of time, the CUAV blocks the enemy UAV
so they are not able to see any map feedback for a period of time and the VSAT is an advanced UAV that shows the enemy's position and
what direction they are facing.
Double XP
Every time the steam group hits a mile stone we have a period of celebration, part of that is Double XP for all users!
Weapon Skins
Weapon skins are available for every single weapon in MWG, there are 20 skins that are available for free when the user unlocks them via
challenges and currently 15 skins that are available for people that wish to support the gamemode via donations.
Website
On the MWG website users are able to edit their classes as they would in-game in case the server is full or they do not want to join the
server, view a leaderboard that is updated every day to show the top 100 players and view donation packages. The website is considered a
side project to the gamemode and therefore is some what lacking some minor features.
Custom Maps
We have a map developer that is currently creating maps that fit our gamemode. Although the majority of our maps are from the workshop or
other developers, we currently have two custom maps called Mall and Metro. All of our maps have extra props to stop spawn killing and create
cover.
Prestige
The max level is 60. Once a player hits level 60 they are given the option to prestige and start all over again, if they agree to prestige then are
set back to level 1 (With the prestige), all weapons are locked and they are given one unlock token to permanently unlock one weapon. Each
prestige also unlocks an extra class slot.
Our Mentality
MWG is created by a team of 3 young adults from three different countries. When we started MWG we had no intention of making money, we
wanted to make a casual gamemode that anyone can enjoy for free without having to read long rule lists or have much knowledge of GMod.
I personally respond to all comments and issues as soon as I see them on the Steam Group, to keep our users happy and make sure everything
runs smoothly. The gamemode will never have any P2W features or "Pay Walls" as we believe this would ruin our gamemode - or any gamemode
for that matter.

Final words
I have not created this post to advertise our gamemode, in-fact I purposely waited 6 months to make this post so that, firstly, I had something to
write about and secondly, so that I could not be called out for trying to boost our player count as we are currently sitting at a stable number.
Before anyone asks I am not going to post the server IPs on here for the same reason that I waited 6 months to make this post, if you would like
to play on the server then please go to the steam group, it is listed in the description. All I want from this thread is some kind of feedback
from people that will not have a bias or any kind of obligation to say nice things, although I would like to see construction criticism, please give
me any feedback as we always want to improve our gamemode. I do also want to point out that I am not the developer of the core gamemode,
I am the guy who keeps everything in check and makes thing happen like updates, the steam group and the website.
I did get some-what carried away when writing this so I do apologies for the extent of this post. If you find any errors please do let me know!
Thanks for reading!
(Lets hope I don't get banned)
This is probably going to be better than infinite warfare
Tthe mw2 ui this makes me super happy
Great work!!
I'll be sure to play sometime :0
Hell yeah, dude! This seems genuinely awesome, I hope that FP thinks the same that I do.
I like it! Unfortunately I'm not anywhere near a capable computer, so I'll have to try it out later, good job though!
I don't know if this is still relevant but my only complaint is that based on the video in the op, it seems as though for some guns the bullets are coming out of your dick. Around 30 seconds in is a good example.
Other than that, excellent work!
This looks like a good gamemode. nice :goodjob:
I've played on it and it is amazing. Only issue is the health is a bit high. Everything else is amazingly made. This is truly outstanding work. Good on ya.
Quite impressive, perhaps I should go back to attempting to port mw2 maps now that we have a true gamemode.
I did not expect such positive responses, thanks!

The gamemode should run okay if you are able to run CW2, that is the most gpu intensive thing on the server at the moment.

The video I posted was not made by us, it was made by a fan of the gamemode. If a user asks; we can give them access to a cinematic command. The bullets coming from the dick is just Garry's Mod, because of the way the weapons work, that will always be the case, I think.

Although we do have a mapper who is making us such maps as Nuke Town, it would be very useful to have maps ported straight from COD if that is even possible. If you wish to talk further then please add me on Steam and I will be happy to reply.
Looks really nice. I am re downloading GMod right now. Hope skins can also be acquired while playing.

Yes, there are 20 skins that can be acquired via completing challenges. In the screenshot showing skins, on the right are the donation skins and on the left are the free skins.

Ah, I see. It would nice, though, if some more interesting free skins existed, rewarded after a particularly hard challenge. Are you planning to add more in the near future?

There are some interesting skins, such as the final challenge skin that is an animated skin. We are planning to add more skins but we just recently saw a spike in players and needed to buy a new server so we decided it would be a good time to start donations and have recently been focusing on items for people who support us. Although we had added some free skins in the mean time.
So is it based on DarkRP?
Because I remember your Battlefield gamemode.
edit: if not then it looks good
I don't want to be too much of a party pooper because I've seen Zombie on the WAYWO thread and I'm sure he worked very hard, but calling this Call of Duty ought to be a sin. In no way does this resemble CoD other than MW2 player models that have been on workshop for years and that Bank Gothic font you use on your menus. This uses spy's base which in no way functions like Call of Duty's (not a knock on spy he didn't design the base to function like CoD) There aren't recoil functions like GunKick/ViewKick/CenterSpeed, there isn't reload canceling or mantle, or really any type of mechanic that Call of Duty popularized. I'm confused why you even tagged on CoD's name when you could've just called this standard FPS gamemode with skins and attachments. Why pay 60$ for Infinite Warfare? Because you would get something with actual Call of Duty mechanics. In no way does this even remotely mimic Call of Duty. I wish you guys all the success and Zombie the best of luck with development, but in my opinion you should change the name of this because having skins/attachments/ and player models doesn't make you CoD.

This gamemode is not based off DarkRP in any way and neither was BFG

Thanks for the well thought out response, I do have to somewhat agree with what you have said. When we started this gamemode we did not expect many people to play it; so the idea of "Hey lets make cod in gmod" was a very appealing one. Tagging onto the CoD name has helped us get players, people are more likely to join a server if they know what to expect, if we were to start this gamemode again with the guarantee of players we would have thought of a different name. As I did say above, we did this for the enjoyment of the user and the enjoyment of us, using CoD as a base has helped us work towards something.
We have tired to resemble CoD as much as we can, with stuff like calling cards, kill streaks and different gametypes. It would be very hard to port MW2 into Gmod or recreate it with such a small team and limited time, as I have said before, this was created for the enjoyment and not for any monetary gain and the people that have played it think it is enjoyable, otherwise they would not play it.
On the topic of "Why pay 60$ for Infinite Warfare?" and changing our name; it is near impossible to change our name, we would have to change all menu styles, create a new steam group and recreate all logos and graphics which would be very pointless when it would not add to the enjoyment of the gamemode. in regards to "Why pay 60$ for Infinite Warfare?", I was not being 100% serious when I wrote this, in a way it is some what of an ironic joke.
Once again, thank you for the reply and feedback. Just a small note, I am not trying to change your opinion on our gamemode, you have some very valid points. If you dislike it, then I respect you for that, that is why I posted here, to get some unbiased options about the gamemode. Also why I did not post the Server IP as I am not looking to advertise.
Is the server down right now?
Is the server down right now?
If you would like info on the server then please check the Steam Group.
Hello again, I seem to be having a problem. Whenever I try to log in with the IP provided in the Steam Forum, GMod fails to connect every time. Is there something I should download or change?
I live in Greece if that has anything to do with it.
Edit: Nevermind, the server was just down.
Not a very good gamemode in my opinion, Reason being it kicks you for "malicious files" if you have ANY lua file ino your lua file even if it not a cheat script for example make a file called dev.lua in your lua directory and it will label it as a malicious file. Also the anti-cheat is bad because after I cleared out my lua folder, I still managed to cheat on the server without getting kicked.
I got banned from this ages ago for "exploting" since one of your spawn hooks broke and made me a skeleton :v:

I do not know how long ago this is but we have made some changes to our anti-cheat. I must say, we are in no way pro lua developers, we didn't want to use a pre made anticheat or buy one because we wanted to try it our self. We do have some people helping us to pen test the anticheat, but it is not something that is very easy to get perfect.

I do not have any memory of this and you are not on the ban list.
