PRESIDENTIAL ESCORT
This gamemode focuses on one aspect and one aspect alone: The President must escape! The Secret Service is responsible for ensuring the President doesn't die. If they fail and the president is killed, they must eliminate the Terrorists before they escape. If the Terrorists kill the President, they must escape, or kill all of the Secret Service agents!
DEVELOPMENT SERVER/TEST-DRIVE: 162.255.215.55:27015
The server will remain up until the gamemode is released on the workshop.
Come join, bring your friends, give the gamemode a test run before it gets released on the workshop!
How to Win:
- President Escapes
- President dies, and all Agents are killed or Terrorists escape.
- If the President dies and the Terrorists all die, the game ends. Nobody wins the round.
Features:
- Server Owners can set the cash and point rewards to their liking. By default, you get 1 point for killing enemies, 5 points for winning.
- Unlimited Respawning. If President dies, respawning is disabled and your team must survive.
- Respawning President ("Bandaging") - If the President dies, the Secret Service can revive him and respawning will be re-enabled.
- In-Game Radio featuring CS:GO sounds (included) accessible via "C" Menu
- Player cash for buying weapons from the equipment menu
- Team Damage Protection applies to Secret Service > President and vice versa
- Purchased guns remain if you survive the whole round
- Weapon Crates reload SWEP ammo (addons) and base HL2 weapon ammo.
Player Radio:
Players can use the "C" Menu to communicate with their team.
The audio clips are toggle-able. If you don't want to hear the audio, you can turn it off and only receive text notifications instead.
Presidents do not have access to hear or speak on the in-game radio, however they can yell for help by pressing "C".
Be warned though! When you talk on the in-game radio, nearby enemies can hear you transmit! They cannot receive your radio transmission though.
Equipment Menu:
Pressing F4 will open the equipment screen.
This menu can be customized in "weapons.lua" with server-specific addons, as well as their corresponding prices.
Updates:
- Feb. 20th: Alpha Server updated to Beta, and opened to the public
- Feb. 20th: President Radio (C) now calls for help
- Feb. 20th: "REACH" and "ESCAPE" now show up on screen to guide players to the objective (cannot be toggled on/off at this time)
Planned Features: (To be completed prior to Workshop release)
- Allow players to toggle HUD indicators (President Flag, Teammates, Escape indicators) on/off of their screens
- Condense "C" radio to a smaller menu
Known Issues/Reported Bugs:
- Revive Timer / Notification doesn't appear when reviving the president yet (must not move for 5 seconds or revival fails).
- Sprint disabled until a stamina system can be put in place.
Test With the Developer (times):
If you don't want to join an empty server, join me when I am available for testing!
- Tuesday [2/21] @ ~ 6:30pm Eastern
- Friday [2/24] after 4pm Eastern ( I am planning to record Friday night around 11pm Eastern. This video will be used for the workshop )
This is my first ever gamemode, but don't let that deter you! The gamemode is stable and functioning enough to play good, solid rounds.
Due to my status as a student of Computer Science, I had the idea to make this gamemode a while back to test my coding abilities. I've been slowly developing it on my own. We have run several alpha tests to make sure core functionality works, before releasing Open Beta. Feedback is more than welcome. The code itself will be available when the gamemode is released. Once the gamemode is completed and tested fully, it will be released on the workshop.
**Side note: The server being advertised is strictly for open-beta testing purposes.
I am planning to have it be removed once the gamemode is released, to encourage other players to run their own servers.
Could you add some screen shots (video?) showcasing the gamemode so far? Your gamemode sounds like it could be pretty fun, good luck with development. I'll definitely have to try it out!
Screenshots will definitely be complicated due to the fact that I haven't had a solid group on the server to get gameplay yet. My friends list is limited with people I know well enough to invite to the game. A lot of the people who said they'd help out are now gone. For now I've put a basic few HUD shots in the main post. Hoping to do a video soon.
Might have to give this a go

So basically you have no friends.
Kidding aside, looks great
Hah, thanks. No, unfortunately the problem is I have too many friends, and want my time, but not to help out when I need theirs.
It's a little hard to advertise the gamemode when there's nobody on the server so I'm going to be adding the times I will be on the server to the main post, and which day I plan to record.

This error popped up right after you left the server.
Putting this gamemode on the back burner until it can be finished.
It didn't seem to have a lot of interest.
This sounds alot like TTT
