I haven't done comics in awhile, so here's my attempt. [img_thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/acoldthanksgivingstrip1.png[/img_thumb]
The layout and posing seem pretty good, but the last panel killed it for me, major clipping there. And I don't really understand what's going on.
What do you mean by clipping? If you mean the cutting off on the right side of the pictures, you should be able to scroll over... edit: Nevermind, I see what you mean. Yeah, I was rushing... heh... sorry.
Oh, the sadness! Anyway, personally, if I'd try to make a sad comic I'd give it a very light bluish tint. To give it a little bit of atmosphere, you see. Then there's what bloocobalt said. Layout's OK, posing good too, but the damn clipping! Damn, how the hell is that supposed to go unnoticed?! But hey, I liked most of it.
Thanks. I'm still new to Photoshop, but I will try that. edit: Here is what I did: Sadness Effect
What do you mean by clipping?
His hands go through the gun.
Read the rest of that post I made.
if the gun is meant for suicide how did his future self send it to him, he should be dead already and therefore unable to mail. besides i bet he's too poor to afford time postage if he only can have an empty poptart box for thanksgiving
It's a comic. You don't need "time postage" anyway for someone to just come up and leave a package. Also, in reality, I don't think you would get a package from the future, and this comic uses realism. So it's not really from the future.
Here is what I did: Sadness Effect
nice effect but there way too much grain with that effect, just tinker with the saturation and color tints...no need for extreme effects on a short comic man. Also, on a tiny side note, i noticed the guys face is completely emotionless and blank in every shot. add some expression to the poor guy.
I know this is pretty late, but I have to reply to this. His model didn't work with expressions very well; the expressions hardly worked at all.
grandfather paradox, ahoy!
It was okay i guess, you should make a little smaller layout so people with smaller screens don't have to scroll all over the place. Make it like... 1000px width where a big frame is 800x600 and a small one is half that one. But it was an okay comic, I'll not comment on the clipping as its already been mentioned.
