Yea, I joined the fad.
No ill will is meant by this. It's just a friendly jab at Ilwrath's pictures. Not that I'm saying they're bad...
...but seriously, come on:

Wait you forgot the shadows and lamps
Wait you forgot the shadows and lamps
That was step 8.
Granted it's more general.
I make them like that because I'm lazy.
But atleast I don't make poses with the same setting all the time.

luv u babe
But I like his pictures.
But I like his pictures.
Again, I'm not saying he makes bad pictures. I like them too.
But almost all of them are just variations on this two people pointing things formula.
A really great tut. amazing as it is now. thank you VMAN for this thread.
I always rate the threads artistic because the pictures are aesthetically pleasing but I can never muster enough strength to actually comment in the same way I can never be arsed to comment on The Combine's pictures.
Damn Nirrti, he got you good.

Thanks for the tutorial.

But I will always love those Zombiefied Imperial Guardsman, Zombiefied Scout and Space Pyro pictures.
Do a "How to Make a "The Combine" picture" next.
Shouldn't that hard. All of his stuff is just one or 2 L4D2 characters standing with a weapon.

AI already did that a while ago.
Yeah and it was shit.

Could you release dat man in da goggles in the alien hunter pic?
This is like saying that this section is 90% about gun poses, which it actually is. I like his pictures and he should be able to do whatever he wants. So should anybody in that case.
Vman's just a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
This is like saying that this section is 90% about gun poses
Not really. That applies to almost the whole demographic of posters, where as this consistency in style applies only to one poster.

I can see where he's coming from. It must be frustrating seeing so much praise applied so something so lazily and mechanically made. It's like when people think hipster lomo photography is artistic.

tbf though I guess Ilwrath only makes pictures to test, show off and market models he makes so I guess there's no point in actually trying to be clever

Which both produce similar results. Scenes where x is shooting y, or where x has gun y. Compared to Ilwrath's repetitive style with 2 characters and similar lighting effects.
They both have the same repetitive nature.
And yet one receives hugely more praise than the other. Are people swayed that much by a bit of DoF and Michael Bay colour-overlay that they forget what they saw only days before? I see your point, but I'm not sure it can be considered entirely fair.
Bandwagon effect. I've seen it many times. :frown:
It's almost as if pictures are praised/liked by chance. Same goes for criticism too.
Not that I'm saying nice looking pictures are bad. Just trying to prove my point.
Thanks. I needed a laugh.
