• Flaw and Disorder - A New HL2 Machinima Series

Good day! Rubber Stampede Films (RSM or RSF, depending on who you talk to) is preparing to film an introductory three-minute short as our launching project. Flaw and Disorder, our flagship project, is an HL2 Machinima taking place exactly five years before Gordon Freeman arrives in City 17. The main inspiration for the project came from the short-lived Combine Nation series; as such, the majority of the main characters are Civil Protection personnel. We're aiming for a bit of a fifty-fifty feel to the series. While the main plot and background are very serious, many of the antics and events are not. Shortly we should have a forum up (and if we can find some to do it, a website). Anyone who wishes to know a bit more, feel free to PM. Currently, we are in need of quite a few things, though the exact necessity and quantity varies. So, I'll keep this short and list what kind of helpers we would appreciate, and how many of each: - Ingame actors (should be able to at least competently listen to orders): Five, but more would be great, particularly if we need backup actors. - Voice actors: Four. There are three main cast voice slots up for grabs, and two of the original actors may or may not be appropriate for two of the slots (we're sort of "auditioning" them). In the event they do take the slots, the four other actors could still be used to either fill out the last character, or else take the part of extra/non-main cast members. We may eventually introduce more "main" characters, however. - Mappers. Non-essential, but if we can get at least one decent (doesn't even have to be that great) mapper, we would be almost set. - An LUA scripter would be nice, but this isn't necessary. Most of our stool needs are taken care of. - A website coder, hopefully willing to do a (simple) website for free, would be great. If not, we'll just use a forum. - Last but not least, we need a decent video editor (our last one turned out to be untrustworthy). Our needs are fairly simple; we need a few overlays, okay/good looking credits, and, if the editor is confident enough, some basic visual effects. We likely won't be doing much green screening. If anyone wishes to help (and we really could use help of any type, not just the mentioned stuff), PM me for details, and we can get in contact on Steam once the friend servers are back up and functioning.
Well i donno what to say. So ill say this, you give no actual plot to your story, except that it takes place 5 years before Gordon Freeman, and that its about Civil Protection. Thats like trying to explain the movie Fight Club by saying its just about some random fight club , elaborate a little more. We want to know what we are getting into when we join something. And this is all that needs to be said in the video section,
- Ingame actors (should be able to at least competently listen to orders): Five, but more would be great, particularly if we need backup actors. - Voice actors: Four. And i hate to say it, but your chances on getting a decent video editor who wants to drop all of his projects and help you on this series is very slim. You are much better off learning Vegas or what ever you use, on your own.
If anyone wants to know more, they contact me. If I go and spoil everything here, what's the point in watching it? Furthermore, where did I imply someone should drop all their projects and come help us? You make it sound like every person with that kind of software is constantly busy doing something with it, which cannot possibly be true. Lastly, I don't even have any decent software to work with in regards to actual editing. If I did, I'd do the editing myself.
I like the idea, mostly because I loved the combine nation series.
Just remember, it's not going to be Combine Nation (if you get your hopes up too much, you may get disappointed). We're going for the best quality work we can, however, and there's definitely going to be a few similar design elements (though these can't be attributed to any one machinima).
Bump
Bump
No use in bumping, some of our brilliant forum members scared them off before they even had a chance to make something good.
Bunch of crap about being stupid....
What are you, ScoutKings alt???

why do you need a lua and a website coder... Theres a forum you can post in for voice acting auditions. I suggest trying to get friends to do voice acting, or ask around VIA steam chat, always worked well for me.
