Cause i totally did not make 2 threads on this topic  Hey, what can i do? It's what i do. In all honesty though i want you guys to judge my latest screenshots and give me criticism on how to improve them. (There is probably another thread for this but i have as much knowledge for travelling around facepunch as an octopus in a maze made of asshole :v) I was told by a friend that someone beat me to the cake after i posted the screenshot on DA and Steam. Dammit dammit dammit... (They are kinda akward for me to pose. Or maybe that's because i didnt touch gmod for 2 weeks. Who knows.) Any opinions?
First of all, I appreciate the XCOM pose, but since you're looking for criticism here's some stuff i've noticed (also general stuff): - The laser guns are so detailed that they stand out amongst the other low detail TF2 models, the viewers eye is drawn in by details, so keep the main aspects of your image detailed and the less important stuff less detailed (this is one aspect of why blur works in leading the viewers attention) - The sDoF doesn't function well with ropes (as seen int the first image) so you probably shouldnt use them together, also I get what you were trying to recreate but changing the engineers color to green maybe wasn't the best way to do it. Try working with props and/or decals to get a better effect. - The posing on the leftmost alien looks weird from the cameras perspective, so you should generally put the camera in place first and build your scene with the angle in mind because this way you can cover up minor posing errors and other things you dont want the viewer to notice (of course, if your posing is near perfect, feel free to pose first and frame your shot after) - Since the second one just a test, i'm just gonna say that the posing is pretty good - Also, don't write "moar" in the thread title. It makes you look like a tool.
