The next issue to the Vortigaunt Saga before things get...serious. Three edits seeing as I could not think of which is better
Taming A Myrmidont Myrmidont taming has been a fairly new practice for Vortigaunts. Those who possess even the slightest Spark of Vortessence is capable of taming. When taming, a Vortigaunt must calm the creature telepathically tricking it into believing it is in a place of peace. Then the Vortigaunt diminishes the cerebral link between the Myrmidont and the hive. From there the Vortigaunt must quickly and carefully construct a cerebral link between the Myrmidont and the rider or breeder. If done too slowly the Myrmidont is driven to madness and the brain will completely and permanently shut down or the creature will die of starvation if let back into the wild. If done too quickly, the Myrmidont's brain cannot adapt as it should and shuts down specific motor functions leaving it motionless until it dies. After the link between a rider/breeder is constructed, the Myrmidont is given a one week rest period to adapt to its 'new mind'. At this point and at the point of the Myrmidont's resting period it is nearly effortless to retrieve pheropods. Although Myrmidont husbandry and their military purposes are highly recommended, the consequences often lead to the entire desolation of the antlion hives that the Myrmidont once guarded. Without the Myrmidont, predators and Pit Scroungers freely come and go slowly picking the place clean until it can no longer support a hive. Woah, where'd you find the info about the taming? And these are damn good.
I think he made it up. Great picture :) [editline]12:18PM[/editline] and story :P
Woah, where'd you find the info about the taming? And these are damn good.
All Vortigaunt info in my threads is from the top of my head. I spent about 3 hours on wikipedia looking at Xen creatures, Vortigaunts, and began studying the vorts in EP2. Glad it was good enough to seem real :P
awesome opossum
New thread from you already? Holy crap. Nice picture and another intriguing read.
Ah! This is getting less attention than my other thread D:
Great thread, and pictures.

^No, you do with succesion.
Awesome editing.
Blimey Ben, you really are capable of chronicling the social behaviour and arcane powers of vortic culture. Perhaps Valve could benefit from your concepts?
Very nice pose and story. Though I was expecting a sex pose for some reason.
Blimey Ben, you really are capable of chronicling the social behaviour and arcane powers of vortic culture. Perhaps Valve could benefit from your concepts?
It would be great if they were/are interested in any ideas and it would be quite the experience. I'm not sure what they could do with my ideas or where they would fit it in with the rest of their stuff, though they would think of something I'm sure. Not to mention that the Vortigaunts I have envisioned so to speak are a much darker more violent and not to mention tribal race compared to the initial characters. I'm glad people like these so much, because there is many things yet to happen. Also, I was finally able to draw out a fair sketch of what a Thoopnik may look like. Finally! :buddy:
this vort is confident :D
