Is there a particular model pack that you usually use in your scenebuilds? I want to start making scenes myself, but anything that doesn't use Skyrim or Portal 2 stuff is basically beyond me.

not really. i've got tons and tons of source stuff installed from source mods
and other source-engine games. gmod takes now up to ~80GB of HDD space.
the material and color tool can change props (visually at least) and gives you
the possibility of, let's say, change a basketball into a canonball with the right
material/color.
