When choosing characters for expressions, she's definitely the best choice. Those thin eyebrows, for example, are perfect for emoting on the already limited face flexes that these citizens have (sadly, I wonder if Valve would ever update them to the same degree as L4D?)

Hopefully that'll come in Episode 3. Maybe.
Anyways, I love that muzzleflash. It's a shame the other medic has limited faceposing though.
I would kill for faceposing as detailed as the L4D characters on citizens, but I seriously doubt it'll happen unless someone within the community remodels, retextures and re-rigs all the faces (oh please dear God don't let it be FuckFactory). Valve deliberately skimped on details with the citizens because they didn't want them to stand out or attract attention, and if they were going to change that, they've had plenty of opportunities with Eps 1 and 2, not to mention the update to HL2 itself. I can't see that changing.
It would be fucking rad to have citizens with the same face yet more detail, though.
I dunno. Maybe somebody could make some headhacks for the enhanced models to use L4D heads?

I mean, there's already countless models that have gotten Nick Headhacks.
Yeah, but the point was maintaining the variety already there. I wouldn't say not to L4D heads on enhanced bodies, but I'd rather the whole range of citizens' faces be redone.
Yeah, that too.
I'd like to see more different skin choices for use with them too, like the Riot Squad ones.
Biggest problem there would be the event where a skin's head skin colour was different the hand colour.

I actually tried to do that myself with the GaL Male_05 facemap, but it never popped up in bodygroup options even though I did everything right.

I always imagined that it'd be a simplified process of just changing the flexes (only the flexes) a little bit to allow more flexibility. Like, change the parameters to allow more extremes in the faces (like literal "jaw drops").
Sadly, that just goes to show how little I know about rigging and modelling in general, haha :v:
Personally, I find the current citizen variety of skins to be generally ok because it does accomplish exactly as Valve intended. Now, if someone were to go out and try to model new citizens on the same degree as Valve (aka, characters that don't attract too much attention to themselves yet provide interesting features none the less), then that'd be pretty awesome.

There's some unused citizen facemaps in the beta files. While there's only one unused male facemap, there's atleast 4 unused ones for females (Not including the beta version of female_02) and I do recall one was reused for Eloise's facemap in Human Error. Valve could easily make a bunch of new models out of those.

Ha.
Hahahahahaha.
