Suit and armor textures are noticeably low res but besides that I have no problems with this. Pretty good.
The glow from the fire is excessive and a bit wierd, looks more like bloom or something.
That fire is huge. Lol. it'd be so hot to stand next to. But the posing looks good. I think it's a little odd how the left guardsman is holding the lasgun at the fire, but that's just me! Also, what Enhanced_AI said. Are those body models imported from DoW?
Suit and armor textures are noticeably low res but besides that I have no problems with this. Still a lot of work to go on these guys to get them to a standard suitable for character-profile shots like this in my opinion. Lovely work so far though.
You should have them throwing their mags into the fire.
I must have these models. I MUST HAVE THEM WAAAAAAAANT

Lovely work so far though.
They're about as high rez as reasonable. The UV mapping of the the textures was done by someone with no thought to relative size or common sense. Some of the largest plates of armor have no more then 10% of the entire texture, and every piece of equipment and every chunk of armor is crammed on. Even at 1024x1024 built from scratch, they still have serious issues that doubling the size to 2048x2048 won't fix. It'd be easier to model, UV and skin new armor and equipment from scratch then completely redo the texture again. tl;dr they're not getting better unless they're completely rebuilt (not going to happen.) And they're better then what I started with, by far.
They're nice though.
Well the weird UVW is due to them being from an RTS. Parts most visible tend to have the most space on the UVW. Nice pose otherwise. Though I have to agree that the glow seems a bit excessive. And yay for orange and teal the two most abused colours :P

Kneepads, for example, have about the same pixel space as the bottom of the shoes. The grip of the handle of the small knife in the gear has the same amount of space as the upper leg armor.
You should have them throwing their mags into the fire.
Haha, This. Although I doubt everyone would get the refrence
Wow, I like this! Rated artistic.
Haha, This. Although I doubt everyone would get the refrence
I get it, but they're supposed to put them above it like you would for boiling a pot of water.
They're about as high rez as reasonable.
That's a shame.
Ellis really looks like a soldier. Pretty believable as a soldier.
Ellis does make a pretty good trooper, he looks like a young draftee, are these just edited, or are they actually a headhacks?

kneepads are trouble. nothing else matters.
Fire looks strange.
The fire is different color than the light coming from it.
The Fire and its glow and color are all untouched.
That doesn't change the fact that it is different color than the fire :3
