start by cropping out the useless empty uninteresting wasted space

after that try to look into making their faces less... comic-like? their expressions currently aren't very lifelike; quite the opposite, they're overexaggerated to hell and back, plus the woman's stare is eerily lifeless. remember to use fingerposing too
