The videos forum! I haven't been here in a long while, but I return with something awesome.
The title is as best as I can describe it, so here it is in its current state because I never got aorund to finishing it. Enjoy.

Just ask and I'll explain any aspects of how its made.
that's fucking awesome, man
oh my god :swoon:
Pretty damned spiffy!
sexy
Amazing, true machinima there.
Those explosions at the end were fantastic
Well let's see... that was fucking epik! Camera angles were perfect, the sound effects were perfect, the mechanics of the machines worked perfectly with the sounds and they looked great when they moved. The machine vision you had set up for them was perfect. Probably nothing short of one of the best GMOD movies I've seen. I encourage you continue with these kind of movies.
that is quality sci-fi stuff there. brilliant. shame you couldn't finish it.
I liked it. In fact, I think that might be one of the greatest battles that I've ever seen in Gmod
By the way, if you showed this to some of the more well-known machinima producers such as the people at Icton, they would almost certainly help you finish it. In fact, with their help, this could be huge.

In my honest opinion, I think he is dead. Dead as in not doing anything good anymore though

You mean the guy who made this video?
In my honest opinion, I think he is dead. Dead as in not doing anything good anymore though
The movie is dead, I'm not however. There's another movie underway, but unlike this one, it isn't serious. It still has lots of action and effects though, and a flying kleiner.
No no, Icton
The guy who founded it years ago.
Hellbring...you're awesome, you're going to do alot of awesome things!

Well, I'm certain that he could find someone to assist him. He should keep making awesome things by all means, though.
HellBring, don't give up.
I too am suffering through the limitations and problems that Gmod is throwing at me while working on my video -- this coming from a hardcore contraption builder of two years! Its been over two months since I started my video (which I projected one month), and in that time my productivity has gone from highs to lows to zero and back again. The point is, I never gave up and I hate that you are doing the same. The quality of your finished product will definitely set a new bar of Gmod machinima; don't let it be a bar of quitting.
Moving on... excellent battle scene. I mean, really amazing! Sound effects were superb! My only complaint was that it was a little dark, but that's an easy fix.
That's awesome, will there be a backstory?
That's awesome, will there be a backstory?
The only amount of backstory is the paragraph at the beginning, and whats in my head. The EU (Eastern United) and PCA (Pacific Circle Alliance) are two superpowers in a war set a minimum of 305 years into the future - note the year reads 305 A.E. I haven't decided what A.E means, but it was brought about by something significant which changed the dating system.
This scene also takes place somewhere in Canada. The PCA moved down through Alaska to get here.
Just realised that the orientation is screwed. I said the tank was moving northwards in the video, but the sun is rising in the west. Oh well.

Splitting hairs...
Anyone noticing that sort of thing isn't worth paying attention to.
Very cool, I really enjoyed it. Only thing I can really complain about is the out-of-tank cinematography, which was average at best.

Agreed. Not so good with the placing of cameras and such. Only shots I really liked are where the little hovering scout thingy breaks through the carridge, followed by where its crushed by the engine. I know I did that well.
My fucking god. That was fucking sweet.
I loved how you let the tank shells fall out and everything.

That was probably the easiest part to do
Everything else kept failing me and required a big reset that couldn't be fixed with a simple load game due to how many things that break.
Very creative :D
I made another video :D

Wow, instant subscribe.
How did you have the tanks and such break apart so well?
How did you have the tanks and such break apart so well?
By making an advanced duplicator copy of the tank, deleting the original, and then pasting down the copy with no constraints and all frozen. You then freeze an explosive barrel where the explosion is, weld all the parts of the tank to it aswell as welding together any parts of the tank that don't break apart from one another. You then unfreeze everything but the explosive barrel, and when you blow up the explosive barrel by whatever means the tank will come apart as intended.
so reminds me of tachikomas of ghost in a shell!
Holy shit. Amazing work, even being unfinished. I'm sad it wasn't finished.

Much inspired by the tanks in ghost in the shell, the larger ones more specifically.
