Comic Nostalgia - Warzone, Part 1: The Impending Storm (Unfinished comic from 2009)

I started this project back in '09, when I had the idea for a comic depicting the siege of Facepunch by a disgruntled user commanding an army of mingebags. Due to a computer crash the comic was never finished, but I restored the recovered pages to their original quality and decided to release them. If nothing else, it's interesting to revisit comics that were made before the introduction of Super DoF and other advanced in-game rendering tools, which have nowadays replaced the old-school post processing techniques that were a staple of high-quality comics back in the day.

So here it is: Warzone, Part 1. Unfinished, but nevertheless humbly dedicated to the old-school comic makers of PHW and Facepunch.

Amazing, I really liked the comic

I love the theme, it's a shame that this didn't get further than it did, I would have loved to have seen more.

Really nice, even if the theme was way overused back in the day - but hey, I make a Half-Life 2 comic, who am I to talk? Though I never was too fond of the exaggerated post-processing that Shazbot and Andres turned into a fad, but I suppose it's better than the vanilla look.

By the way, I think it's only nostalgic for you, seeing as you never released it before.

I like the lens effect going on with the "Welcome to Facepunch. We've been expecting you," guy throughout the comic. Is that a texture or an edit?

Actually I'm fairly impressed with the reception this got, considering it's a woefully incomplete project that never goes past the 8th page. I don't like posting unfinished work, but since I went through hell to recover the pages, I figured it was worth a release. In any case, I'm planning on releasing another comic during the fall, so there's plenty more where this came from.
