Lemmie stress this now, it was made in SFM. [thumb]http://fc03.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2013/321/8/0/chokehold_submission___dead_or_alive_by_urbanator-d6u2lwg.png[/thumb] [thumb]http://uppix.net/Im2ORF.jpg[/thumb] Mmmkay, so a little while ago I got confirmation that I could start posting SFM images over here. Now, I don't wanna start pushing my way back over into gmod territory, but this place sure feels cosy. And since SFM images over here might potentially irritate people, I'll make it real easy. Rate this Disagree if you want my ass to never come back here (unless if they merge the sections or whatever, then it won't matter) and I'll let this thread die. Though I hope you'll accept me with open arms once more. :v: (Oh you'll have to excuse the watermark, blame those lecherous fucks over on ebay and amazon for that)
Gross, SFM! We can't accept that pretty rendering 'round these parts. Though really, this subforum would be quite a bit less uh... dead and twitchy... if people were to post their SFM stuff here. It may be the Garry's Mod section, but I don't really see any reason why not. As for the scene itself, it's lookin' delicious as always.
SFM?! Get out of here you swine.
eh let's say it's acceptable this one time the pic itself is p good
SFM? Don't make me put on my serious face. I don't want to sound rude, but it really doesn't stand up to the same quality as your past pictures. It feels really underwhelming as well.
i don't have a problem with SFM itself, but i'm paranoid that garry might merge the two sections if too many people post SFM pics here. so i don't know
Go ahead and post your stuff. I'm here to see pretty pictures, not bitch about what they're made in.
i don't have a problem with SFM itself, but i'm paranoid that garry might merge the two sections if too many people post SFM pics here. so i don't know
Yeah then we'd have mostly SFM TF2 poses and Gmod tactic00l soldier poses.
We can post SFM pictures here? shiet, why nobody told me that before. That thread in SFM subforum is kinda dead in the way of feedback. I miss making different threads for pictures, it was always much more enjoyable to read actual comments rather than just achieving ratings.
I really don't understand what the big fuss is about when it comes to posting non-TF2 stuff here anyway.
they've founded a cult around the female scout models FT, everything else is blasphemy where's the watermark by the way
they've founded a cult around the female scout models

I always get unsettled when I look at this gallery http://wnses286.deviantart.com/gallery/ [editline]29th October 2013[/editline] It's bordering on "otaku waifu" levels of obsession
Thanks for the comments lads!
I don't want to sound rude, but it really doesn't stand up to the same quality as your past pictures.
where's the watermark by the way
Just under Hitomi's left arm (chick gettin choked :v:)
Dude, yes!
I think it would have benefited from a more strained pose from Hitomi, her whole body should be reflecting what's happening. Her lower half looks like she was just sitting there, minding her own business before Tina walked up to her and grabbed her. Like, she should have been leaning back more, or had one leg up as if She'd just been grabbed and pulled by the neck. Tina should also be leaning back as if she just dragged her a few feet. Also if you look between the space between Hitomi's legs, there's no audience directly behind them. One or two people visible though there would have fixed that. Apart from that though, great picture as always.

Also as for the lack of crowd in the middle, I thought there was a reason why it was blank, but I'll see if I can edit that so it has some people. Thanks man! I can't do any more then that. :suicide:
The edit makes it look a little better, yeah.
Do it, i like your stuff.
Personally I feel like we shouldn't post SFM threads in the gmod section. If we post from time to time in screenshot section off-topic it's ok since it's shameless self-advertising. But some feels... off about posting SFM in this section. I mean we're supposed to be comparing our gmod pictures, not pictures from different programs. Then we might start posting things posed in other posing programs as well. Granted, gmod and SFM both uses the source engine, so there is that.
i feel like it's easier to make pretty shit with SFM, what with all the advanced shaders and all. never going to use it again tho since posing with it just feels unappealing
But some feels... off about posting SFM in this section. I mean we're supposed to be comparing our gmod pictures, not pictures from different programs.
This is probably why I won't make another thread in this section. Anyway, people know were to find me on DA.
i don't have a problem with SFM itself, but i'm paranoid that garry might merge the two sections if too many people post SFM pics here. so i don't know
So? It's not like there's five of us for everyone one of them. The only thing that would happen is another round of tears like what happened when he merged the contraption section in. Plus the amount of people that edit the fuck out of all their pictures is insane, can't really call them justGMOD pictures at that point in my book. I say all good pictures go in here as long as they went trough one of the games. That said, as far as this picture goes, I really hate their expressions. They're just kinda way too flat.
but how would that even work? shit's going to fall off the first page real fast if everyone starts making threads for their pics (and thus your work gets thrown into the obscurity bin and forgotten) and like Urbanator said you're going to get nothing but ratings in megathreads (AND your work gets thrown into the obscurity bin and forgotten) keep it the way it is if you don't want a total "fucked if you do fucked if you don't" situation or alternatively allow SFM posters to make pic threads in their own section
or alternatively allow SFM posters to make pic threads in their own section
People get shit on when they post videos that amount to weeks of work as individual threads in the SFM section. There's a mini modeling/mapping thread, a FAQ/Support thread, a videos thread, and an image thread that all struggle to stay afloat even without threads for every single thing. Without subforums, it's more of a struggle there then it is here to keep relevant data afloat.
That said, as far as this picture goes, I really hate their expressions. They're just kinda way too flat.
Wow, you hate their expressions, I consider hate quite a strong word. :v: Again, I'll need to work on all this later on. Also still waiting on minilandstan to help me understand how this is 'underwhelming'. I'm not being sarcastic or something, I'm genuinely perplexed as to why. [editline]15th November 2013[/editline] Admitidly, the posing was quite underwhelming. Started to get lazy in parts... the hell, his face can't have looked like this in the final render, something gone wrong I mean shit, i used the same guy twice here :v: And to think this still all took a long time to set up. I don't think I posed a single shoulder. Ah as long as it looked alrite from the primary angle, meh.
Faces are hate-worthy in their blandness, except for a couple of gems in the crowd, and the fore-action is literally lifeless. (though well lit, but you see, well saturated blanket lighting is kind of your thing so you don't get a pass on it anymore.) There's zero dynamism in the match. Hitmi looks kind of put out, and Tina literally looks like a waifu-robot that didn't get any other programming than "assume this pose". The sad thing is from doing lots of ME3 combat poses, I realize especially the lower body set up was probably a pain in the ass and took a little work and a good representation angle, but there is zero displayed exertion going on here. This is a dark match I would be booing the fuck out of. It looks like two mannequins "fighting."

I'll have to work on the posing some more. Out of curiosity, I haven't seen any ME3 poses by you, care to link us to some? [editline]16th November 2013[/editline] Actually, do me a favor and have a look at the OP image again, I altered the expressions so they have a bit more life in them. I can't alter the pose itself as such as that would require too much work.
Link
Nah. Not to sound like a hypocrite but I could give a shit about external opinions on work made directly for friends/fans. The faces look much better, they're still kind of disconnected. As I've stated before on your MK vs RE pic and your Kitana versus Jade or Mileena, whichever it was, capturing action in the "perfect moment" seems to pretty much elude you. Your scenebuild+group vignettes and glamour stuff is superb, but your action stuff is always halting, lifeless and timid, and that goes back to your Liara ME thing and even before that. Some people get it, some people don't, and it's something that requires an innate sense of capturing both emotion and physical exertion at its peak. *btw Rastifan, you aren't any good at fighting/action either, so your disagree doesn't mean particularly much. Anyway, back to the subject at hand; rasslin is about strong and cleanly simple visual telegraphy, you're fighting in front of an audience that goes rather a ways out, so your actions need to be deliberate and clear if you expect to go over. Hitomi's back should either be arched or she should be leaning out in a clearly displayed straight angle, and her arm should at least convey the attempt to to stay in the match or even of her trying to use it as a leveraging agent. Tina's body language doesn't even fit. Yeah, animu characters, particuarly females are supposed to be legendary in their flexibility but her foot verus her versus her trunk versus her neck not only don't follow use of symmetry, they don't convey power or force at all. Her body, inlcuding her leg and foot should be aligned in one direction to keep her opponent locked in place, and her neck and head should be leaned in towards her victim. Her body language is all over the place and looks about as strong and menacing as a pair of underpants. there's even folks who do all the research you would need for you.
Since you're not gonna link me to any images that you did for your friends/fans, is this one of your better works? [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/quDDnVh.jpg[/thumb] Call me an elitist, but Im finding it more difficult to take criticism from you now, particularly when you said I have never been able to capture the 'perfect moment'. The posing in this image here ain't exactly steller.
Urbs why do you have to do such gorgeous stuff
