I need VirtualDub to reduce the size of a high-quality .wmv without decreasing the quality of the footage, but when I import a .wmv video into VD, it turns up like this:

I have downloaded wmv plug-ins (because the import process wouldn't start at all without them), but I doubt that a missing/misplaced wmv plug-in is the problem in this case.
I use VirtualDub 1.9.7 by the way.
VirtualDub is meant to process AVIs, not anything else
there goes my childhood dream
i'd suggest using this instead
