Stock muzzleflash from Google, big round brush colored like the muzzleflash (yellow/orange) with screen blending mode to get the lightning.
His facial expression seems a little exaggerated, but otherwise this looks really good. I'd suggest moving on from Mr. Offscreen, though; he's seen far too much use and abuse at the hands of countless people.

Exaggerated? If anything they're under-exaggerated. His mouth is pretty much just open and has no agression to it, and his outer eyebrows need to be raised otherwise he just looks like he's squinting his eyes.

Have you ever fired a gun in your life? You can't just save a picture of the target in your mind and just perfectly judge where to point it, lining up the weapon properly is way too difficult unless it's centered and aligned atleast partially. Parallax is a real pain in the ass. Just try to stick your arm out, and point it at something over 10 yards away while it's way off to your side. Now try to do that while it's more centered.
Unless you're perfectly standing straight with your torso in line with the target (which he's [i]not[/i] in the picture), you're going to twist your neck to face your target.
Depsite all the nitpicking, I still think it's a very nice picture. I lurve the lighting.
