There's just something about the shadows on the rocks that weirds me out. It has this weird red/purple touch to it even though the lights are either white or blue on the map. Kind of confuses it. The shadows on the astronaut and the antenna with the ground under him seem to have a good dark type of shadow. Wait i think i figured out what's off about it. It's the 3 different types of rock textures. There's mask's mountains, which occupy the majority of the image, then there's that skyrim blue/red mountain right in the middle that just stands out unusually, and then there's the ground. I would've cut off the screen part on the right where the blue glowing column ends though. Seems more symmetric I think.
I agree with the weirdness of lighting, but it does help provide contrast to make out what's going on. I wonder what the solution would be speaking strictly within colors.
Yeah, the textures were really tough on this one, there are very few moon rock textures out there that are ready to use, at least that I found. I didn't put quite as much thought into this one as I usually do, I've had a really bad/sad week, found a song that I liked and just made something. The pinkish lighting comes from the portal that was originally going to be a pinkish color (changed it because it looked dumb). You're right, I definitely should've cropped it a bit, I would now if I had a higher resolution image, but I used downsampling through my control panel on this one for the SDOF, not the poster command. [editline]t[/editline] Overall I am still very happy with it. It gives an alien feel, while still (I hope) looking a bit like a mangled dark side of the moon. Either way, I enjoyed the hell out of making this. Scene building is therapeutic as hell.
How about "Holy fuck Houston you are not going to believe this shit" :v:
