ahem those textures in particular are about double the resolution
it's not the textures are the problem it seems and i don't think it's the lack of polygons -- I think it's just the phy model's limitations. if you take, say, nick's .phy and replace it, the model is TONS better

ye they are about 2 yards apart but i zoomed in maximum for full effect

Naw, I'm pretty sure it's the lack of polys. Cuz back then they relied on texturing rather then polygons.
Also, try the blacklight's phys, they work on p. much every normal sized human type. And removes pretty much every posing restriction.
