The rain is very flat. Make a few more layers with the rain size getting increasingly(Decreasingly?) smaller behind it and move them around, helps create more depth, it helps to isolate the characters from those background layers as well. Same goes for the smoke, it looks nice around the two on the ground, because it creates a nice depth and atmosphere, though it looks flat all around it with everyone else behind behind it.
The battlefield of Flanders was always dun-diddly bloody. Thank the soldierinos.

yeah i know what it is, i learned about it in history, i kinda ignored it since im not interested in ww1
WW1 was a lot more historically significant than a lot of people think, a lot of what came out of WW1 shaped the world today.
