i don't usually do sunny bright daylight shots as you may have noticed so i hope this turned out ok
Good depth and ground, works well with the light
I wish you would have stayed away from DLights though
what are DLights?
Pretty sweet lighting. Loving it as always.

Just DynamicLights (the ones spawned by the light tool)
ah. should i have used lamps for radiosity and atmospheric lighting too? seems a little impractical.
When are these blue legion chapter models coming out?

Always, these 'DynamicLight' entities are a lie. They don't cast shadows, their light spread is dominant, excessive, and no-where near close to how light works in real life, all they do is low tier shading. The technical term may have 'Dynamic' in it, but it's far from dynamic. They kill pictures all the time, and yet people keep using them everywhere because of their ease of use. You get incomparable depth and quality when you have actual shadows in your scene without fake light in it
if you want to step it up lighting wise, don't ever use them, use projected textures.
so i'm supposed to start using dozens and dozens of soft lamps per pic just to get the atmospheric lighting and radiosity done absolutely 100% photo-realistically right?
all you need are about 5 normal lamps actually, the rest is mainly bonus
I use mostly 8-ish lamps, with a few advanced lights to very, very lightly light things up to not be pitch black. Then I take a poster of each light source individually and combine into one in post. Just doing that makes things look quite better.
On-topic though, I like the picture, nice scenebuild.
My laptop is pretty much frying up with Soft lamps and the high res props I'm using. So I can only use soft_lamps for close up scenes with not a lot of objects.
