Contrary to the name, fighting isn't the only thing you can do in space. Want to explore, mine for resources, set up an intergalactic bean trading conglomerate, smuggle things past the space police? All kinds of space related activities are encouraged and allowed. Space is quite a big place, and there's room for more types of factions than the limits of Espionage Wars allowed. Space pirates, smugglers, cultists, mercenaries, ancient alien empires, most likely any kind of faction that you can think of that would fit in a sci-fi setting is allowed in Interstellar Wars. It's never too late to join, but please read the thread and especially the rules section before joining. Don't make 50 factions you're never going to use.), and multiple players running one faction is permitted. If you know you're not going to use a faction for a while, let me know and tell me to change 'Active' to 'Inactive' on the faction list. A faction's size should be at the very least 10 people and one ship, and the maximum size allowed is 15 billion personnel and 1000 ships. Factions can be comprised completely of humans, completely of aliens, or any combination of alien races. If you can, you should reskin the models you're using to make them unique to your faction. Using the same models as somebody else is fine, as long as the two factions are easily distinguishable. And when picking models, please keep in mind this is a serious and somewhat gritty game, so anything cartoonish such as TF2 or anime models are completely banned. [B]Rip-Offs:[/B] Ripping off factions completely from other forms of media is completely disallowed, and your faction will not be accepted. You cannot be the Helghast from Killzone or the Collectors from Mass Effect. Don't attempt to skirt around this rule by just making a faction that's identical to another but with a different name. Use some creativity. [B]WMDs and WPDs[/B] (Weapons of Mass Destruction and Weapons of Planetary Destruction.) Weapons that can entirely destroy or render a planet uninhabitable are considered WMDs or WPDs, and are disallowed. Destruction of space stations and other smaller celestial bodies MAY be permitted depending on the cirucmstances, but contact a supervisor before even considering any large-scale destruction. PLEASE NOTE: In the unlikely event that a player is given permission to use an WMD of any type against another faction, the owner of the faction the weapon is being used against must give their consent. [B]Quality Control[/B] Having at least a moderate amount of posing talent is recommended for this, should a player fail to show some decent and realistic posing it is suggested that he/she practice more before coming back. [B]Xenophobia[/B] Hating aliens is fine, but please don'tok, go on endless campaigns against non-Human factions for no better reason than the fact they're aliens. This is unfair, and doesn't encourage players to create alien factions if they're just going to get attacked constantly for no good reason. I mean the thread's up so go ahead and post content, but it doesn't look like i'll be able to actually edit the OP for a while if this keeps up. There have also been some slight revisions to the rules, regarding xenophobia and inter-dimensional stuff, so check the wiki to see those.

It doesn't delete all of the post, but it just stops me from actually posting it. Before it was the Wiki & Steam links causing it, but those are gone and all the others worked fine so it's just being shit.
Quick question: Would my "phased-space tri-dimensional transport system" still fall under the rules? It's basically just an Alcubierre drive for short, planet-to-planet travel. Sort of sidesteps the whole "orbital maneuvers" thing.
If it's using other dimensions as a 'corridor' to travel briefly through, then possibly. The dimension rules were re-written because it was thought to be a little unfair that SonOfBrim was the only person to be allowed to do it. The thing about inter-dimensional stuff is that for every good idea and reasonable thing you can do with them, it also opens up the possibilities for a very large amount of stupid things that we'd like to not make a possibility.

If it's just a simple way of going short distances in a small space of time then it's perfectly fine, but the rules about longer travel are the same for everyone, no exceptions.

Since we're allowed multipled factions now, I'd like to make one for a system government: Faction name: Government of Mallavol System Faction logo/flag/emblem: (I can't produce this at the moment, I'll make one very shortly.) Homeworld/HQ: NeoTokyo, Corridon 12, Mallavol System Faction type: Planetary System Republic Faction species: Mixed Biography: Formed in 2315 from a combination of previous colonies residing on the planet, the Mallovian Government has been the unifying body of the system for decades. They have guided the system through its colonial stages, its growth as a citysystem, and its modern era as a prominent force in galactic business. They are not presently known to have any large enemies and their main goal is to keep Mallavol safe for all its citizens. Anything else we should know: Despite generally not being hostile, the Mallovian Government is known for its implementation of a type of isolationism (Certain goods can get out of the system, but next to nothing gets in) which allows for an isolated free market within the system. They often do not allow business with other systems aside from exporting their products, but will cooperate with other entities if necessary. There have also been talks to throw out the policy all together. Oh and I'll need help to make a ragdoll less stiff, if it's something that can be done with joint onstrain in the QC, and doesn't involve rerigging of course. Faction name: Wasp Project Faction logo/flag/emblem: [img]http://i.cubeupload.com/M36mjZ.png[/img] Homeworld/HQ: The planet Gardenia Faction type: A often hostile Xeno Faction, brought upon by scientific research and experimentation gone horribly wrong. Faction species: Mostly a race of evolved Wasps ranging from usual wasps, to Parasitic Wasps and even Tarantula Hawks. There are some humanoids in a Plague Doctor Outfit, thought to be either lab technicians who survived the terrible accidents that befell that research facility, or some conspire they are in fact terrorists who led this project down the route it took. No one knows for sure. A few Boars form a sister project being run in the facility, who act as servants for the Parasitic wasps. Unlike what one would imagine most the prey to act, they retain intelligence, and free will for the most part. They are useful, so they are kept. But if there's a need for food in the field they are butchered if there are no other feeding options, to which they willingly go for. Biography: What is known of Wasp Project is not too much. Their origin experiments are from a company known as GERC (Gardenia/Earth Research Corporation) which was a partnership of Earth creatures under the effects of some of the environmental difference sbetween the planets. The experiment begun very controller, but something caused a red gas to flood the facility About 45 years ago. From here exact details are lost, and there is a lot of discussion about what caused the accidents and unleashed such things upon the galaxy. The Wasps gained intelligence, and while working with the unknown plague doctors, have been taught space travel, and how to fire weapons. The current Generation of Wasps that make up the bulk of their forces are a ruthless bunch, and caution should be exercised around the planet Gardenia, and to an extent the system Gardenia is in. Vessels that were originally used in transporting the materials for the experiment are now used by the Wasps, including military grade ships from a nearby Military installment they swarmed. Anything else we should know: I hope they aren't all Super natural, because I think of Sci Fi, and one of the thoughts is experiments gone very wrong. And I made the Boars less braindead slaves, and hopefully more competent beings, just with their views twisted to best serve the Wasps.
Since my faction are merchants n' shit, i'm curious if it's alright with you space corporation factions if I sell your products and wares onboard COTEP's flying supermarkets.

The Rangers are actually the descendents/remnants of the Veltarrin Union's 55th Marine Division, one of the most feared units of the now defunct Veltarrin Union Military.
