Especially i put effort into the lights.
First of all:
Another Day IN Valhalla
But holy shit Torchwood you're actually starting to shape up. I still don't like the filter, though. Makes my eyes hurt. Looks like someone spilled Vaseline all over the camera. Not exactly a good effect. Other than that, the angle is pretty good for what you're trying to show off. Personally, I would've dragged the shot to the side a bit and showed off more soldiers.

Also, lights without context: [editline]6th February 2014[/editline] All effects without context in fact.
Yeah, that's right. I guess I was thrown off by the lack of Valhallen guard in your picture. Someone go make those. What do you mean by "lights without context"? I'm not sure what you're talking about.

Oh okay. I get it now.
the weird cartoonish soft blur thing you've got going on looks really bad, you should stop using it
Is that a watermark in the corner? Do you think someone would want to steal your work? No one is going to want to steal this and call it their own. Trust me. I don't know why you keep insisting on using that god awful blur effect. All it does is take the already putrid (literally, the greens and yellows are nauseating) color scheme and make it look like someone smeared a wet cum rag all over it. The attempt at manually painting the lighting doesn't look good at all. It looks like you really half assed it. There should be way more shadows and way more darker ones in the creases and corners to help with the contrast. The photoshop job on the hat is just silly. If you insist on using that shitty blur effect (which you shouldn't), at least use it on all of your assets in the scene. All I can really say is that I'm glad you didn't "paint" any hair like you seem to have a habit of doing. Unless you learn to accept any and all criticism pointed your way (even if you disagree with it), you're content will remain incredibly shitty.
I've expected something like this.
And did absolutely nothing about it. Do something. Like, I don't know, say, stop being a stubborn rhino and start putting effort in.
I've expected something like this.
How to not understand what criticism is, with your host, Torchwood01! No seriously, we keep telling you how to improve and be super good at things, and you reject everything we say. Why are you the way that you are? Like I said in the last thread: All criticism is good criticism. Period. Any and all opinions, feedback, and observations about your art is always valid no matter what they said to you. Even if someone is like "That's a complete piece of shit" and walks away, that means there is something wrong with what you made to them, and you need to find out what to improve.
can we see an unedited version
I think "all criticism is useful, but not all criticism is good criticism" would be a better term to use. "This is shit" is useful because it tells you someone found something wrong with it, but it's not good criticism because I'm not told what I should be touching up. For example, in another one of Torchwood's threads I posted a bunch of (what I thought were) my best pictures. All Torchwood said was "you need to learn to use photoshop", but I couldn't understand why. Anyway. They do have a point, Torchwood. While you are apparently taking SOME of our criticism and improving, however slightly, you're still not paying attention to both our foremost problem with your pictures and the easiest one to fix: the vaseline filter.
can we see an unedited version
Here it is, but only in pretty bad quality for now (i'm already turned off my PC, and grabbed pict from VK dialogue).
It's actually not that bad. Like I said though, move the shot to the left and add more soldiers. There's a fair bit of empty space between the commissar and the guys in the back. Also what guys are in the background? Not 100% sure they're guard.

Never played in this shit, so can't tell you who are they. Anyway, from distance and with blur, they look like guards.
Now that you mention they're guys from CoD, they kinda look like the SEALs. Think I have them. Also, you do know we have Lasgun and Laspistol models, yeah? No need to use whatever it is you used on the Comissar
Now that you mention they're guys from CoD, they kinda look like the SEALs. Think I have them. Also, you do know we have Lasgun and Laspistol models, yeah? [editline]6th February 2014[/editline] Anyway, guards on backside are holding lasguns, as you can see.
Less banal? You mean something OTHER than the weapons shipped with the models you're using with their original game? :v:
So, there is no any disparity to canon.
Less banal? And the powerswords can be any form as long as it still a sword. If not, it's just an another kind of power weapon. High-ranking officers, including lord-commissars, usually have their own private weapons, that they chooses themself. So, there is no any disparity to canon.
Some lamps and decent lighting and this would be a very nice picture. The posing is pretty good imo. Why do you insist on ruining what you make in photoshop?

It's fine. However, Imperial Guardsmen very rarely use stubguns. They're more common with renegade cults or gangsters, who can't get access to military equipment. A commissar especially wouldn't be seen with a stubgun unless he lost his own weapon and was using something he picked up off a gangster or cultist.
Those are not SEALs, those are US ARMY Rangers in a full ballistic outfit.
Ah okay. Spank you very much.
I want you to improve so badly. I genuinely want to help you but you just dont listen. It would have been a good screenshot but you didnt use any lamps and rather blurred the whole picture and painted on the lighting and shadows. You can STILL do that but only AFTER placing ingame lamps. You can REFINE the lighting in Image Editing Software you cannot create it. If you want to create Lighting from Scratch start drawing and stop using 3D Software. Why are you so stubborn? I admire your self confidence and will to carry on even though everybody tells you how shit you are but still what's the point in posting here if you are just going to disregard everything we say and pretty much take a shit on this whole community? I just want to understand. Nothing you do makes ANY sense.
I like the concept and the posing is alright but jesus christ the editing is terrible

In fact, it was main idea during working on this scene.
Alright let's dissect what's going on in this image. A Warhammer Commissar (I think), with an old style revolver, a sword from Skyrim, and a Ushanka, standing in front of two Spetsnaz/Russian Soldiers from MW2 holding lasguns, edited poorly with the most god fucking awful Water mark I've ever seen. Like anyone would want to steal this. You seriously need to work on it. [editline]7th February 2014[/editline] Why are you making threads for these.
Nobody cares for now, but here is original in HQ.
