This bug was reported over a year ago but still hasn't been fixed, even though it's listed as an acknowledged problem.
npc_striders in certain Half-Life 2 base maps rely on the Input "EnableAggressiveBehavior" for attacking enemies. However, whenever EnableAggressiveBehavior is flagged on the Strider, it causes them to completely bug out when moving. Their legs go into the ground and off the map when impaling close-range targets, and their minigun fires rapidly and accurately but deals 0 damage a shot. Disabling EnableAggressiveBehavior after it's been inputted still leaves their damage at 0.
For both custom maps relying on Strider battles and for base HL2 maps, this either breaks Striders or leaves them at their exceptionally weak pre-Episode 1 state.
The only place that this is used in HL2 at the end of EP1 as far as I know.
EDIT: Just looked into it, I don't think this is even fixable, the variables set by those inputs are never used.

Sorry for bumping, how does Episode 1 handle the strider's aggressive behavior if gmod can't?

GMod isn't episode 1, it is a half life 2 mod.

Okay... But if GMod can mount other games, shouldn't it also be able to adopt the other games' handling of npc and commands?
I've always assumed mounting other games to mean their content and maps, not neccessarily their scripts

That's not how it works.

 bump again. sorry.
I'm still wondering, what exactly are the unused variables? I don't think you specified what's the problem preventing EnableAggressiveBehavior from working or being fixed in GMod.
P.S. dead horses woo.
I already found the problem and fixed it a few weeks ago. Wait for next update.
