I saw somewhere that someone ported the models from the latest monster hunter game. I cant find the thread anymore but if someone does it would be great to make an snpc
The one called a rathalos would make a great snpc. The once called rathian is very similar and could probably be used as an alternate model.
i havent played the latest game on the wii. But the Rathalos on the psp had very simple ai and movement.
on the ground
if it's target is far away it would play an animation and shoot a fireball straight forward. Sometimes it would shoot 3 in a small ark. Sometimes it might charge forward in a straight line and run into the player
if the target is close and in front it will try to bite. if to the sides or back then it would spin around and do damage with the tail
it might try to either hover straight up in the air or jump backwards with a flap of the wings. The air created from the wings pushes the player back a bit.
sometimes when it jumps backwards it might also hurl a fireball
flying
rathalos might try to zoom down and hit the player with talons . in gmod it might be a good idea to allow it to hold onto things
rathalos also hurl fireballs down
its pretty much "if this happens then i do this attack" . if the animations werent taken from the game with the models then bad ones would still be nice
thanks in advance.

This is quite demanding, these animations.

I agree, a full animation set of a large model is never easy to create, Especially when trying to get the animations to be exactly like the original.
Yes.. although they are shity ingame so i dont expect them to be good. Im perfectly fine with them snapping into new possitions and in the games the monsters often walk on the ground without moving across it while your fighting them
if you exclude status effects then these monsters have less than 20 (simple) animations and fight like a boss from an old ps2 game with attack patterns.
two legs, wings , neck, tail, mouth... yes im asking for a lot... i wonder if the animmations were ripped from the game... il have to ask the author cause i know very little about ripping and if they are i dont think they'd be taken into source along with the models.
Sorry that im asking for a lot.

Its not a problem with the asking for it, You just didnt understand that is was a big task.
Other than that, I highly doubt the model came with animations.
