How do i create animations?

I wanted to know is there a program or something you can create animations with and i dont mean gmod movies i mean animations like mods trying to create a first person animation

Most of the 3D modeling software allow you to make animations too, you can use Blender, 3DS Max or Maya for example.

There is a lot of information available but if you are looking for a single tutorial, you probably won't find one.

Since there are so many ways you could do this, I would recommend learning about what all the terminology means, then choose one of the 3D programs above and follow tutorials for how to create animations using that.

After you have done so, you will want to read up about SMD/DMX and QC files - what they are for and what the various different options mean. That will allow you to build your animations into the .mdl files that are consumed by source games and SFM.

Don't be under any illusion that this can be learned quickly. Depending on what you already know it could take between a day and a few months to figure out enough to be able to do the specific thing you want to do. The information is out there and you will pick it up - but be prepared for pain along the road. Some things are not well documented and assume you just know what they are. Once you do find out, it's a lot easier - but like I said before - since there are a million ways of doing a million different things, you will need to work out for yourself which specific things apply to what you're trying to do.
