I'm making a swep with the toolguns view model but there's no text on it. Can I put text on it without it being a tool?
Take a look at the cl_viewscreen.lua in gamemodes/sandbox/entitites/weapons/gmod_tool. That should give you a good idea of how to accomplish drawing things onto the tool gun.
