Hey. I've already fixed my other problem regarding the particle erroring, but now i face another problem. I'm trying to come up with a smoke trail system, but i'm having a few problems. 1̶.̶ ̶T̶h̶e̶ ̶p̶a̶r̶t̶i̶c̶l̶e̶ ̶d̶o̶e̶s̶n̶'̶t̶ ̶w̶a̶n̶t̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶a̶t̶t̶a̶c̶h̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶e̶j̶e̶c̶t̶ ̶a̶t̶t̶a̶c̶h̶m̶e̶n̶t̶,̶ ̶b̶u̶t̶ ̶i̶t̶ ̶w̶o̶r̶k̶s̶ ̶f̶i̶n̶e̶ ̶w̶i̶t̶h̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶m̶u̶z̶z̶l̶e̶ ̶a̶t̶t̶a̶c̶h̶m̶e̶n̶t̶ (solved) 2̶.̶ ̶H̶o̶w̶e̶v̶e̶r̶,̶ ̶i̶f̶ ̶i̶ ̶u̶s̶e̶ ̶C̶s̶s̶ ̶m̶o̶d̶e̶l̶s̶,̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶e̶f̶f̶e̶c̶t̶ ̶a̶t̶t̶a̶c̶h̶e̶s̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶t̶o̶p̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶v̶i̶e̶w̶.̶ (solved) 3. The particle spams Cannot Update control point 0 for effect 'smoke_trail' on the console. Not a big deal for me, but it might get annoying if i'm trying to read errors. Here is the code i am using: [lua] function SWEP:PrimaryAttack() --blah blah blah local Vm = self.Owner:GetViewModel() if Vm == nil then return end PrecacheParticleSystem("smoke_trail") ParticleEffectAttach( "smoke_trail", PATTACH_POINT_FOLLOW , Vm, Vm:LookupAttachment( "muzzle" )) ParticleEffectAttach( "smoke_trail", PATTACH_POINT_FOLLOW , Vm, Vm:LookupAttachment( "Eject" )) --blah blah blah end [/lua]
bump anyone?
Bump. [editline]23rd January 2014[/editline] Good news. I fixed issue one and two. Since it wasn't attaching to the eject, i decompiled the hl2 models and realized that they use 1 instead of eject, which means that doing like this: [lua] ParticleEffectAttach( "smoke_trail", PATTACH_POINT_FOLLOW , Vm, Vm:LookupAttachment( "1" )) [/lua] attached it to the eject. By seeing this, i tried the same technique with the css weapons and found out that they also use numbers. 1 is the muzzle and 2 is the eject. Now i need help with the last one.
