Any way to get the length of a sound file without SoundDuration?

It's not available in menu state, and it's a C function
Any workarounds?

I only know that you can use Java for that.
I asked such question few months ago and that's the same answer I've got (including the code for it)

And do you mean javascript, like making a html panel and doing something in there, or actual java?

Could be Javascript, altho I think that the answer was releated to using javascript to stream the sound aswell..... it's like a fog to me now.
