When you sit down to do some serious developing (or indeed some vague non-committal tinkering), be it of your gamemode, addon or whatever, what's your setup, and what music do you listen to? This is mine: [IMG_THUMB]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3076493/desktop.jpg[/IMG_THUMB] and I listen to SomaFM, generally Tag's Trip or Space Station Soma.
I have GMod open on my main screen, coding stuff open in my other screen, and Ambient 1/Music for Airports (and other music of the same style) playing.
Gmod open in window mode, MSTSC(Remote Desktop), Notepad++, SVN (to upload new stuff)
When I developing some thing then I listen Hard-Style music. :D
I guess I'm weird for listening to top 40 music when programming :v:
Notepad++ running in the background and Garry's Mod in gm_construct. Very simple, but an effective setup. Sometimes I also like listening to Dio, Judas Priest, Metallica and Iron Maiden while developing.
Garrysmod on my 19" secondary-screen and notepad++ on my main 24" screen, with a file-browser window in the background.
Pendulum full volume with my awesome headset. GMod windowed on my 17 inch RGBLED full HD widescreen laptop, with FileZilla and Notepad ++ in the background. I'm not entirely sure if that is the screen size, because of this.
Oops! Google Chrome could not find google.com
Not much to show, just full screen notepad++, with windowed (noborder) gmod, dedicated server running, hlsw for rcon and firefox with opened gmod wiki. And all this on 17 inch samsung syncmaster 710n. No music :P

Almost always i have skype skype conversation and iptv program running in background so i don't really need music (but some times i listen to Jonathan Coulton, Celldweller, Within Temptation and some others)
I run wxLua full screen on my secondary monitor, garrysmod in a 1280x720 borderless window on the main screen, and use Winamp to play whatever I feel like. One of my friends got me into some stuff that is "inspired" by Silent Hill, and my brother got me into Mileu ( person who did the Eufloria sound track ). Other than that, whatever is floating around in the music drive gets into the list. Also Chrome is open to the wiki so I can lookup something if needed.
Pendulum full volume
Fuck yeah Pendulum.
I've got Notepad++ open on exactly half the monitor size, Chrome open on the other with Overv's lua search, and a windowed gmod running gm_squares in the background. For music, http://radio.q-dance.nl/
Notepad++, Windowed GMod, An RDP connection to a server(with Notepad++, MySQL Workbench and srcds running). And in some cases Visual Studio 2008 or 2010. Oh and my iTunes on random. Because tbh, I can't hear it(mind is elsewhere). But there are some times my sub-conscious is screaming "Delete this fucking song".
Does anyone but me listen to the Men Without Hats or The Talking Heads? I usually have GMod open in windowed mode with MSVC++ and/or Notepad++ open, and WMP playing some music in the background.
I turn off all the lights, close the curtains, put on my headphones and play these together; http://www.rainymood.com/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DEC8nqT6Rrk and open up np++ with minimum programs and gmod in the tiniest of tiny resolutions; both on the same screen. Or open Visual studio and code from there.
Listen to a mix of RJD2 and Moby while I alt-tab between a few steam windows, Garrysmod at my native res in windowed noborder mode, and a N++ window with all my bootiful codes v:v:v
Take headset, Hit shuffle button for a random radio station until a good one is found. Launch Garry's Mod windowed and -noborder'ed but all screen wide. Open Notepad++. (anyone gotten Eclipse to play well with (g)lua? Code Do want dual screen (triple will do too!) back. Now I have only 1920x1080 and it's killing me. Opera almost definitely open on background while experimenting with new stuff. I have a local test server where I live test the modifications and then apply to the "production" server using SVN (easy to apply updates, easy to revert fuck ups).
GMod Minimized, Notepad++, youtube; what ever music I just feel like. Facepunch maybe? And the webpage i develop for.. Single screen 1280x1080. 17".

OP, how do you split the NP++? D: Looks cool.
OP, how do you split the NP++? D: Looks cool.
Right click on tab -> move to other view. >_> You never clicked on the tabs befo?
This is how I develop: Garry's Mod running minimized (my old [since last week] graphics card didn't handle running Source games in windowed well), Notepad++ up front and center, music playing in Windows Media Player with the sound set to I can't hear people talk to me when they're next to me unless they shout. Just to clarify what I mean by music, I mean this: It helps me concentrate.
Notepad++, windowed Gmod (but still my screen res), Firefox open with internet radio, the wiki, and facepunch at the minimum; FileZilla for uploading to my dedi; SourceSDK/hammer, model viewer, and 3ds max also often open at the same time.
Notepad++ on my main screen, GMod windowed on my second screen (both 24" 16:9). Listening to either basslover.de / hardcoreradio.nl / radio.q-dance.nl Music is running via iTunes and it runnes as soon as my pc is turned on :D €dit: the counter for basslover.de is currently at 2203. :C
Sometimes with music, sometimes not.
I really need a second screen, 1280x800 is not doing it for me. I usually have Notepad++, Winamp on random, RDP into my LAN dedicated server, GMod in windowed mode with chrome at the wiki page and community forums for the community I'm coding for.
Now that I am finally home. [img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1660572/desktop.png[/img_thumb] Trying out the start menu on the side of the screen currently.
