This will probably get dumbed to all hell but I feel like me posting this will get something done or at least provoke a response. I use advertisements on my server and this allows me to not push everything as donator/vip and makes it so I don't have to restrict everything in the server or scream for people to give me money. However a recent update changed the way the browser works in gmod and has almost completely broken the system for ads. While some may see this as a good thing I don't, I know there are servers that scumbag the hell out of ads and abuse the system forcing an ad every chance they get but some servers like mine depend on this revenue to keep the server running. The company said they've contacted Valve with little to no response, all they've gotten are automated messages that the Steam customer support is notorious for giving. I know the devs are on here a lot and I'm hoping that this can be resolved at some point.

A server with adverts is obviously to only make money. They can claim its to help cover server costs, But being a server/community owner is a hobby not a job.
I am sure allot of people leave servers that force adverts upon them so all you do is drive people away killing of your population.
Another note these are easly blocked via the hosts file.

hosts file is editable via notepad or other text document reader.
Wait for motdgd to release an official fix. I doubt anyone here will willingly fix an advertisement system for Garry's Mod.

I made the advertisements lua side(commissioned years ago) for MOTDgd, perhaps I should get in contact with Ixel again about an update.

Not on Garry's Mod, No.

It does but not as effectively as it used to. I used to earn enough money to pay for my server ~$40 and now I only earn about $2.
EDIT: I feel so foolish, I read over post and didn't even notice the usage of the word "bar" in their group post. It seems like yet again I've made an ass of myself. Just ignore the rest of this post.
