• Coding NPC behavior/nodes into a script

Hello, I'm unable to use Hammer at the moment because of performance restrictions, but until a few weeks from now when I get it to function, is it possible that I can code NPC behavior (including spawning, and small node networks) into an external plugin for my gamemode? And if so, please inform me as to how I should do it. I simply need small packs of NPCs to auto-spawn when the gamemode initializes, and roam around the map in individual node networks. Hopefully that makes sense, and generally, I know what I'm talking about, but the way I would have done it is obsolete. If there's a separate thread for this, please link me to it; searching appears to be disabled, yet I still appreciate help on this. Thanks.
