modMaster is a small java program designed to allow you to easily enable and disable addons from outside of Gmod. At this stage it is fully functional, although basic. I'm releasing this without all the features to get a general idea of the demand and interest for it. I'm aware that there were a selection of these made for Gmod9, and one made for the current version of Gmod, however to my knowledge, all of these projects are dead, as are all their mirrors. Version: 0.5 Requirements: Java Gmod Steam Features: Fully self contained and portable, no need to install. Lightweight Convenient Shortcut to launch Gmod Non-Destructive enabling and disabling of add-ons Saves the last directory it found AddOns in Planned Features: Updating AddOns from SVN Profiles Potential but less likely features: SVN Checkout/Mod Downloading Integrated Updater Download: http://mirror.dreamsofmercury.com/files/dark12222000/modMaster.jar Source: http://mirror.dreamsofmercury.com/files/dark12222000/modMasterSrc.zip(intended for Eclipse) Notes & Misc: This has been tested on WinXP and Win7. It should be totally cross-platform except for the "Launch Gmod" button. Currently it enables and disables addOns by renaming info.txt. This isn't the official way to enable and disable addOns, but it's clean and easy. If you are interested in getting involved in the development, pm me with a brief introduction and what you are interested in doing and I'll send you SVN credentials.
Cool.
Tested and working perfectly, Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. Addons disable and re-enable immediately like they should and the launch Gmod button works even without steam directly installed, instead it's launched from my external drive and this still can launch Gmod fine. Great work.
I like it a lot! I used to use the Gman tool, but it was much more cumbersome than this. This loads fast, requires no install, and automatically detects and launches Gmod. I would LOVE to see an SVN downloader, even if it only shelled to tortoise SVN or something simple like that, just to keep everything in one window. Also, a few features I would like are: 1) Highlighting of enabled/disabled addons within the list. 2) SVN or shell to SVN program a) UpdateAll feature for SVN 3) If possible, a pre-launch feature to set the screen resolution. When I am testing something, I like a smaller resolution in windowed mode, but if I want to play, I would like full screen, and waiting for it to load and reseting this many times can become annoying. Everything so far is great, and even if you don't continue I will be using this for every Gmod launch!
I like that it is self contained, no need to be installed, there are a lot of simple apps out there that should be self contained that are not, pointless installations! Good work!
Addonissimo Win?
Addonissimo Win?
What about servers? [editline]10th January 2011[/editline] Plus just because one was made doesn't mean another one can't be.
Was expecting this to be a virus/spam. Nice release.
