hello and good day i finished creating a sword that i wish to use it as my first swep. but i don't know how to code or animate it. can anyone help me please?
What did you just compile a model or something? If you don't know ANYTHING at all about SWEP's I would find some melee SWEP and start making your edits from there.

That tutorial teaches bad practice and is also outdated...
If you're making a melee weapon, you should especially learn about [url=http://wiki.garrysmod.com/page/Prediction]Prediction[/url].
Take a look at the weapon_fists weapon on how they made a melee weapon that is predicted properly.
