Not to mention that you could learn the same thing in 5 minutes just by looking at some simple HUD from garrysmod.org

Although I admit it's not the best tutorial I've seen, I'll also say that it's not a bad start, also, not that many lua tutorials on youtube. :wink:

Maybe because you can learn lua faster by reading, not watching.

Not everyone can learn faster by reading. For example I am a visual learner. But the things with the errors is true but it was his first video, and I think if he continue making videos he will get better so in future he will don't make so many mistakes.

So, why not read, code, then visualize your code in-game?
And it's not exactly easy to learn from a tutorial that isn't even that good.
22 minutes for a basic GUI? I made a basic GUI in less than 5 minutes just by looking at the wiki.

And this is true it took to long to make a simple GUI but maybe in the next video he will not spend so much time on fixing the errors.
If you want to help people learn, start releasing scripts, addons, tweaks, gamemodes, ect. I'm not going to doubt your ability to make an lua script but I strongly doubt your ability to ever become a teacher. What makes this video bad is the fact that you yourself have to go back into the wiki just to remember simple hooks and such. In turn if you knew them off the top of your head you could have spent the whole time you did searching the web to instead explain the hook, and everything related. Good luck with the tutorials though if you continue to make them.
When I was new to lua specific to garrysmod I would have loved something like this. But make sure you have all your information on hand next time pls.
could do with speeding up and better explanation of what happens narrated after you've made it atm it's like a "let's play" of code
