steamapps/xxxxxx/garrysmod/garrysmod directory wiped with new update?

I just updated my garrysmod to a "new format". Well it's gone now but I opened up notepad++ and I tried to save some remaining work but it said it was open somewhere else. Did it save the files someplace else or am I screwed?

Wow. Just noticed the folder called "garrysmod_old".

I am retarded.
