• New and most up to date host provider for gmod? Something affordable that most people use?

It's been a while since my last server went down, before I used to use NFO servers for a dollar per slot. Has there been a dedicated server provider now in days? I've also heard of xenon servers, are they any good? What kind of servers are affordable with 32 slots and good connection?
Get a vps/dedicated server and manage everything yourself. You will get way more value for money doing everything yourself.
Ah, I meant to say dedicated server, i'll just fix that.
If you want a dedicated server, host it directly at the datacenter you want. Don't host through resellers. NFO is a reseller, and I'm quite sure their dedicated servers are more expensive than the ones you get at the datacenters directly. I have hosted with Limestone (didn't have a good firewall at the time, any small DDoS attack would take the server down, don't know if it has changed), Intreppid (has DDoS protection up to a few Gigabits and around 10 Mpps, but is expensive). If you're from the US, or have an US playerbase, I'd recommend both, but it all depends on what you need. If you're going for a host in Europe, go for OVH or any of their "Sub businesses". SoYouStart is one of them, KimSufi is another one. It all depends on what you need. Some hosts offer a lot of RAM, but relatively little CPU power. Other hosts have it the other way around. If you are going to host a lot of servers (Source Engine atleast), go with 1GB per server you want to host, to keep some scalability. For processors, make sure you get some capable clockspeeds, and not something around 2-3 GHz. Something as an Intel Xeon E3-1270 v2 would do. NOTE: More cores doesn't mean the server is better. If you can get 16 cores running at 2.0 GHz, it is not worth it.
The guy who runs http://bbservers.co.uk/ is always on top of his stuff, he's a good person to rent server space from.
The guy who runs http://bbservers.co.uk/ is always on top of his stuff, he's a good person to rent server space from.
It looks like a generic WHCMS hosting company, the website template doesn't even look good on a 1920x1080 screen (Image). His website still uses "garrysmod.org", doesn't capitalise "GB" in the Minecraft plan. Also, control panel was just down.
Should we make megathread for server host discussion? There's like 5+ threads a week all over gmod general and dev discussion so one place to get the info would be a good idea I think
I have my new dedicated with OVH with my server location being in there North America East datacenter in canada. Great price and specs are more than enough for run multiple servers. Cost is around $138/month

We still use GMod.org because people still pull content from there, so we have an installer for such an action. Some consider it useless and never use it, but it's there for ease of use, otherwise the template seems fine?

Now you're letting people install broken things and we'll get all their questions; "why doesn't this script work".

We have workshop support and we regularly advise people to go there instead. Hell, we were one of the first hosts to implement workshop support. Just because something doesn't happen to suit your needs does not mean others won't find a use.
CityMayhem US used BB Servers, and I honestly never had any problem with it. I am not a very big fan of NFO servers personally, namely because of the Battlefield betas which can be summed up with, holy fuck get your shit together NFO.

As far as I know, you can edit the files of WHCMS. If all payment profiles are the same price, meaning, free, why do you even display the "$0.00 USD"? It confuses people, as it is not properly explained what that price actually means. Will the server be free? No, but some people might see it that way. Then, why do you show "Unbranding" as a feature, and not just with 1 option, but with 3. [t]http://ss.rubensrv.nl/i/1340fy.png[/t] Unbranding is free for every plan / server you have, then get rid of the option as it is something irrelevant to show. On a features page I can see why you'd do it, because it's marketing, but not on a form where people need to order their product. Same goes for FastDL, first of all, why is it Instant, will it be deployed more instant-er than the game server, which is also instant? Why give people a selectbox as an option, if there's one option to choose from? It also annoys me that most hosting providers do not write their texts properly, which makes them look incredibly unreliable. It's not hard to get your terms right. (It's "GB", not "gb", just like "Garry's Mod" and not "Garrysmod"). Then also on your order page, you have the text "Chosen Location of your server". If people picked it, I don't think the text behind the selectbox serves any use, it's double and clutters up the page with text. The website is just full of general grammatical errors that even annoy me, a non native speaker. I'm not trying to act like a grammar nazi, but I'd wish people now finally try to at least look professional. Not everyone with WHCMS and a dedicated server is a hosting company, and thus having a professional and fancy looking website will make the difference. Even if your service is shit, having a fancy website that has all it's texts properly written will make people trust your service. -edit- Plus you write Garry's Mod in 3 different ways on your website ("Garry's Mod", "Garrysmod", "Gmod"). And the random capitalisation of words annoys me too. Capitals are usually used for abbreviations, names and at the start of a sentence. Not every "feature" needs to have every word capitalised.
I would always advise using the OVH group of companies. (OVH, SoYouStart, Kimsufi). Had great experience with them, all in all the best servers I have ever had.

It's somewhat problematic, however due to the way WHMCS calculates prices that's just how it is. The site is due an update (moving from WHMCS at the same time). People mentally take it as an extra bonus if something is offered there for free, no matter how useful it is to the actual process. For the Instant FastDL that's just what we call the product that goes with it. Once upon a time (and still rarely surprisingly so) people used to charge for basic systems that used sv_downloadurl. Again, it's there to seem beneficial.
It also annoys me that most hosting providers do not write their texts properly, which makes them look incredibly unreliable. I disagree however that a "good site means people will trust it". There's been people with better sites and far worse service and they've long since gone. Do we not adhere to what you consider good in terms of site design? Maybe not, but considering we still get business and people seem happy with us, we must be doing something right v:v:v

You said you can edit the frontend, use javascript / jQuery to change the content of that select box to filter out the "$0.00 USD ". I'll help you (together with a friend) if you want.
$(document).ready(function() { $("select[name=\"billingcycle\"] *").each( function () { $(this).html($(this).html().replace("$0.00 USD ", "")) } ); });

Standard selling tactics for the unbranding. It'd be way better if you'd just show plain text containing "You will get: <list features>" rather than an option you give them.
Aside from the order page, I would disagree that we seem like another bog-standard WHMCS comp. You're right, javascript / jQuery could be used and in the short term, I may consider implementing it. I'll politely decline the assistance though. Edit: The three options for the unbranding shouldn't be there, it just clicked what you were actually on about, also fixing that now :v: [editline]1st August 2014[/editline] Scratch that, it is correct in the actual settings, it's WHMCS having a moment with it, time to see what's going on there, but thanks. [editline]1st August 2014[/editline] And fixed.
