Hey, I have the map : rp_downtown_v6_dtg_c
and If I try to drop M4A1 weapon in some locations on the map the weapon gone
its dropped and disappread for non reason..
I dont know why its happen...
Its only with M9K.
Its dont happend in on the locations of the map only like on the road (some roads) or something like that
I realy dont know how to epxlain that.
And some times if I drop it and someone walk to the gun its take the gun automaticly to himself...
Maybe it's the map and not the weapon (?)
"And some times if I drop it and someone walk to the gun its take the gun automaticly to himself..."

Can someone please just put an end to downtown, I want there to be explicit code somewhere in gmod where it crashes the server whenever a rp_downtown map is loaded.

Every Downtown version after _v2 is an unofficial edit. This results in lots of amature mappers editing the map making their own edits. After lots of edits of edits the map becomes very unoptimized.
Downtown was never originally an impressive map, however ever server uses it because every other server uses, it is an endless loop.
Some people may enjoy downtown, however there is a general agreement on facepunch that downtown is bad.

that's only because everyone on facepunch has a racist-type dislike to darkrp in general
Well I like v4_v2c and thats about it :3

Well excuse me.
I forgot that
rp_downtown_v4c_1337_re_edit_pantho_cool_lol_ace_epic_fixednew_7 was a great map.

i never said it was a great map, i was saying that people only hate that map because 99% of darkrp servers use it, and (almost) everyone here hates darkrp.

No, we hate it because it's an unoptimized, dickishly edited, ruined piece of shit.

that's your opinion on why everyone hates it. what i said above was mine.

Yes, the difference being that my 'opinion' is the general main consensus, on top of the fact that it's filled with too many shitty edits. Not every server uses it, because they all use "TOTAL CUSTUM VRSIONS"
How I can download the source of the map and optimazie the map?...
I dont know how to edit maps.

Don't do it then. I'm pretty sure that instead of optimizing it you will end up doing worse than it was before. Resulting in another downtown edit.
I think the whole "code to crash players loading downtown" should almost be a standard at this point. It was cool for a little while when I started playing... but then I realized that the same pattern always happened on it. Someone goes to the gun dealer... buys a gun... robs you in the open... takes whatever they asked for (FYI, 4 year old kids can't aim, so CP is useless)... run to the sewers... rinse and repeat.
The consensus is that rp_downtown_v# have all been terrible maps. You're better off letting it die than to reconstruct what a mangled mess of what downtown is.
And above all, some noob who has no prior knowledge behind making a good map, or worse, no mapping experience at all should even be able to add to it, let alone optimize it.
So while you guys are playing the map, I'll start making a headstone that is labeled "RIP rp_downtown_v#"
And don't even get me started on rp_mc_downtown_v2.
A consensus can be wrong. Since it can't be proven whether downtown is good or bad, best to just decide for yourselves. I wish The Pro would be still around so I can ask his permission to fix rp_downtown_ubyutown...
My favorite map to roleplay on is gm_flatgrass. It's just the best there is, there is a place for everything. And M9K is shit, don't use it.
frankly i use downtown because all the other RP maps seem to suffer from at least one of the following problems:
1. really shitty zoning that leaves the map feeling either huge and empty or tiny and claustrophobic
2. terrible optimization that rapes everybodys fps
3. 9000gb of custom models packed in that makes everybody ragequit halfway through joining because it takes so long
4. poorly designed public buildings/areas (bangclaw police station i'm looking at you)
5. requires content from ep2, portal, DoD or some other obscure source game that not that many people even have installed on their computer
If i find a map that manages to overcome all these problems I will happily switch over to it but until then downtown it is
