I need to lower the tickrate on my DarkRP server lower than 33 to prevent the CPU from maxing out and crashing my server. It is hosted by NFO so the lowest it can go is 33, is there another option for lowering it that is not displayed in the options?
Contact NFO, I guess. As far as I know you can only set it through command line/startup line

Setting the tickrate too low will make the server feel like crap. If you're hitting your limits of the server either reduce the maxplayers or upgrade your server. Setting the tickrate lower is not a fix.
Would using a different map help?

Not likely unless it is a very poorly optimized map you are currently using.
sooooo....rp_downtown_v6_v2? ;3
you can set tickrate on your managed panel of the server, type -tickrate <rate> on the command line, save/restart server
I like running most of my servers at 40
Also, you can set it so the server wont crash at high cpu usage on the managed panel, its a small tick box. One way I lower overall server load is doing phys_timescale .6 . You can vary on the amount but .6 is enough to lower majority of the entities on net_graph 4 to where it doesn't max.

I would contacted NFO and see if you can get an upgrade. Im sure thats the only solution. If you make it to low ( 20> ) it will feel weird and not seem good. If you really dont want to "Upgrade" i would switch to a different hoster ( i use Xenon Servers ). My hoster company is outstanding. I run my bhop server 100 Tick and it doesnt really cause any type of crashing or lagging. :) But back to what i was saying i would look into an Upgrade :/ Sorry :(
NFO's control panel has an option to set tickrate if I remember correctly. Look around more.
It does, but it only goes down to 33 at its lowest
