I want to change darkrp 2.4.3's title to "ShcoolRP" on gmod. Many servers have done this but I don't know how? Tell me which files to change and what lua lines to edit!

Why do people say don't? I'm just making a school related RP which already exists...... just please tell me how to change the name.
Make your own gamemode (which I doubt you have the talent to do) or use something like nutscript as a base. Don't just rename DarkRP and then pay $100 on coderhire buying scripts and getting people to code a student job for you.
I don't get why I am getting so much hate for my own decision that won't affect you guys. Just please tell me or explain why its stupid.

Make your own SchoolRP gamemode instead of re-naming DarkRP and i'm sure people here would have no problem helping you

This might be why people don't want to help you.
The problem is if you just rename the gamemode folder it will break. You need Lua knowledge to change include paths and other directory related things. Sorry nobody helped you.

Here's the thing; doing this does not benefit anybody. Gmod's browser organizes gamemodes by the amount of players altogether, this means unless your server is pulling a 100+ players at peak times and between 50-70 at other times, you're going to be at the bottom and since players are scared of new things, there's a chance they won't even see your server because scrolling down is really hard okay
It's also annoying in general as it clogs the server browser up with more roleplay gamemodes, and there's already a whole lot of them already. I always personally raise my eyebrows at this types of threads; if you cannot even figure out on your own how to change the gamemode, how are you possibly at a level with lua to be able to create something that is unique and justifies a name change?

The fact that you say it's "heavily" modified, but you don't know shit in Lua makes one wonder. No one is going to help you to make more shitty DarkRP edits out there. And to top that, 2.4.3? All gpses should enforce a rule saying you can't rename a gamemode that you didn't create unless you heavily modify(I don't mean adding shitty coderhire addons)

As for OP, try learning to spell before learning Lua. There's no ShcoolRP DRP edits out there.
I made a topic about this and I kind of got the hate comments but it was only one comment/reply. I edited DarkRP a lot though/removed some shit that wasn't needed in the gamemode. All the servers that already have a player base change the gamemode name since they all had confidence that they could do it.
I highly suggest not to do this unless you really want to do this. I already knew how to do this in the topic I created, but I just messed up something lol. I honestly don't want to explain but if you have a gamemode that has a shit ton of changes then do it.
Something that isn't just original DarkRP and renamed to SchoolRP with a SchoolRP map and with SchoolRP jobs. You need a unique feature to it that people will actually like. Also on the side note: Don't make SchoolRP servers, a lot of people troll on those.

i just don't get why people use 2.4.3, 2.5+ is superior in every single way as far as i can see.
Plus running 2.5 will only protect you from older and more well known exploits, I know at least 5 exploits that can crash 2.5 including one that has crashed every single server I've used it on regardless of what restrictions they have or what mods they have installed (no I won't tell you it, it would be a damn shame if it were to fall into the hands of skids and get patched out of existence :v:)

Well I do recommend you to make your own gamemode called SchoolRP. But I will tell you how to rename it. First go to gamemodes folder and rename the DarkRP folder to SchoolRP then go into it then rename DarkRP.txt to SchoolRP.txt, open that then rename the title to SchoolRP then go to gamemode then I think it is shared.lua or init.lua, I forgot. And then boot up your gamemode and have it broken because it cant find the game folder.
That is the case with 99% of gamemodes. You need to change directory paths.
