Is it allowed to take the darkrp scripts and add custom items then rename the gamemode?

Learn Lua. There's a lot that goes in to making a gamemode; there's no single concise answer to your question.

Yes, you can change the name, but it's a bad idea as most people here and Garry discourage it. Just know you'll receive no support in how to do it.
