Hello everyone!
I wanted to make a quick announcement, which is that there is now a Garry's Mod developer discord! This is specifically meant for developers of all fields to network, collaborate, and assist each other in an easily accessible and convenient environment. Please feel free to join it!
Sorry for such a short description of this - I just don't feel like this needs that long of an explanation.

Huh. I don't develop much for Gmod anymore, but I occasionally hang out in the Glua chat. I'd honestly much rather use something like Slack or Discord than Steam, but it really depends on if all the Cool Dudes™ migrate over.

I doubt any of those guys will move over to a Discord run by someone they don't trust

I ported my bot from the steam glua chatroom to use Discord as a measure of goodwill and invited it to join dmitrik's discord chatroom.

I had a few anti-spam measures built in (from its time in the steam group chat), but I suppose multiple users filling the chat up to the brim with nazi german swastikas are just too much to handle.
I didn't expect a learning tool to be abused so immediately. I'd have hoped that dmitrik would understand that it wasn't the bot at fault, but it was the fault of the users spamming the bot incessantly with crap.
I was disappointed with dmitrik's actions, and I'm sure others would be too, had this event not been buried under meme spam.
This chatroom isn't ready for a chat-bot from an administrative perspective. The steam group chat has members whose maturity is greater by orders of magnitudes and know not to abuse the goodwill of others.
The steam group chat administrators are lax, but understanding.
I agree with BigBadWilly and Parakeet: I don't see any promise in this chatroom from an administrative perspective.
I want to be in a channel where I know and can trust the administrators.

I had no idea about this. I am truly sorry about that. I just went to check discord for a second and saw a bunch of swastikas spammed in chat and banned those who spammed because I had assumed there were a bunch of trolls. I will try to get you unbanned as soon as possible. As for general administration - it was really trial and error at first. It is hard to cater to everyone in the discord as far as what they want. Some people want strictly developer discussion, some people want off topic discussion, etc. I think I will have to speak with everyone in the discord to see what they decide. Along with that, I would like to delegate administration privileges to some other members that are trusted within the community so that all decisions are on my hands (personally, I don't trust myself sometimes with administrative issues).
Sorry for any inconvenience and I will make sure that it won't happen again.
I would also like to add that the discord has really worked wonders. I was able to network with a few people that are even working with me at this moment on some UI.

To be honest, I'd rather have someone that is familiar with the GLua community and knows pretty much everything about garry's mod run a discord server for garry's mod.
I'm pretty sure you don't know much about the GLua community and not many people will tend to trust you.

Like I said, I am perfectly fine delegating administration rights to trusted members in the GLua community. I simply made this discord because it was a need that was to be fulfilled. To be honest, the discord has worked quite well for it being up for only a day and I can only see it thriving for even longer if skilled developers are able to administrate.

I will admit - I was overly aggressive at that time because of what I received as spam and people acting as trolls. I do apologize for that.
Perhapes make the bot only usable by the administrative usergroup.
It's a good concept to use this bot in programming discussions however, what we really need is a trust system that will give more trusted developers the ability to regulate this server instead of 1 person.
Hash does not deserve this abuse. He deserves his own channel. Hash is helping Willox make Gmod great again!
