Garry's Mod on Linux - Developers

I haven't tried to run Garry's Mod on Linux in a long while and was wondering whether fonts and all that jazz are working and whether there are some other snags I perhaps don't know about and perhaps some of you know some fixes (probably too optimistic with that haha). Thanks.

Depends on the distro, really. Ubuntu ought to work mostly fine, as it seems to be the one most people test against. If you're running something like Arch, though, you'll need to install some gstreamer plugins that I can't remember the name of for mp3 sound to work properly, etc. Just go with Ubuntu if you don't want to have to deal with much hassle. Should work just fine out of the box once you get proprietary drivers installed (Nvidia).

Linux Garry's Mod has a leaking issue with memory and you cant get on servers that is filled with 90+ addons without crashing constantly. Memory steadily increases until hitting 4gb ram (swap included) then crashing. You can play on any server that isn't DarkRP based, simply, everything else works on it though and you shouldnt have any issues as long as you installed proper prerequisites. On Buntu, I've had no problems out of the box and arch, I had to get a 32 bit package, (Don't remember the name) and I was good.

I've gone through multiple distros before, I'd say it's between CentOS and Ubuntu 14.04. I'm currently using Ubuntu 14.04 32-bit and I'm having literall no issues at all. I have a TTT server with probably a good 40-50 addons and it runs relatively smoothly, my only issue is playermodels that cause players to crash but to resolve that I just removed the high detailed models.
