lighting looks great at first glance, but the lack of AO in the darkened areas soon sticks out and makes the shot look like what it ultimately is - a video game screenshot. use Soft Lamps for everything. the road also looks a bit wonky with how the mass of grass just cuts off at the edges instead of gradually thinning and shortening near the sides of the asphalt.
It was soft lamps in the pic but the reason you can't tell is because I'm not using them very well, or at all considering I've still got learning to do, hence Vioxtars help. Didnt notice the grass, will deffo keep that in mind. Thanks fam
if you really did use Soft Lamps here, then you forgot to render them with poster_soft_aa
Ah, I've bern using just poster soft. I'll use that instead.
you used poster_soft but the shadows are still sharp as fuck. check the lamp settings.
Ye i know thats what i meant at the start, Viox has been taking me through it,i forgot to set the shadow resolution higher.
It's either (poster_soft_aa <x>) or (poster_aa 1 and then just poster_soft <x>), depends on your version
yes, "AO" was just a cheap of describing the darkened areas that no sunlight or ambient light reaches
Yeah, like especially under the truck for example
Where did you get that ural model?
ComradIvan's VK page, its an excellent model. He's also got a beautiful BMP 2 model as well. Check it out: https://vk.com/comradivan Heres the Ural though: https://mega.nz/#!IAhBCKpS!o2wO0u-l1XMhZtzSPz ..
