I have been trying to get this train map fully operational, with moving scenery and HDR. So far I managed to get the textures fixed and most the error gone but I still need to figure out how to get the HDR to work. I tried recompiling the map with the SFM Hammer but decompiled maps seem to crash on it and when I successfully compile on the SDK version of Hammer it crashes on my SFM. Could someone help me fix this maps HDR or even save me the trouble and make a fix bsp of the map for me, since something might be wrong with my hammer anyway. Here is the map file: http://www.garrysmod.org/downloads/?a=view&id=128080
That map looks awful, what do you wanna do with it?
I'm recompiling it with HDR just to see what happens. Moving scenery sounds interesting, that could come in handy in a movie if you could sort of pre-animate certain things in the map. The saw blades in that TF2 map are a good example, it would be cool if all Source maps can be converted to work in SFM without losing their moving parts.

It's still compiling, I'm gonna make a sandwich or something, this is probably going to take another hour or so.

Well, it's still compiling. I'm going to give it another couple of hours, then I'll stop it. My triple core has been at 100% CPU load for almost 20 hours now. edit: I stopped the compiling, it was taking too long. Funny thing is I can load the new bsp, but it has no HDR so it looks like a fullbright map. My recommendation? Load up the maps you want to use in Hammer, the remove everything except the part of the map you want to use in your movie, surround that section with a box, and just compile that. In essence, you will be making a bunch of tiny one or two room maps for use in SFM. This makes sense when you think about it. These maps are large only because they are intended for gameplay, single or multi-player. For SFM you only need the sections you are using for your movie. With a little bit of pre-planning, you can figure out which sections of each map are needed and only compile those, saving yourself tons of time converting maps.

Yeah and it still wasn't done when I stopped it. Smaller HL2 maps don't take as long compile with HDR, DM Dam beta2 for instance only took a few minutes.
If a map like that takes that much time to compile its not worth to use it in your movie, plus considering how it looks
