not 100% sure if this is what you're talking about. But do you mean when you use phenomes, and you've got lipsync, you can't edit the face anymore, because it messes up the lip sync? If so, only add phenomes to the lower face. And then animate the middle/upper parts manually.
Again. Not sure if this is what you actually need, could you elaborate?
Do the sliders not do anything, or do they deform/mess up the parts or something?
