Okay, I have no idea if there is a thread similar to this one, (if there is please send it to me :D) simply because this is my first post on the forums and I do not have permission to use the search function.
So. Onto the topic, I want to import new models to Source Filmmaker, specifically models from Max Payne 3, but it would be nice just to know how to do it in general.
I have been googlin' around for some time but I haven't found any answer yet.
How do I import new models to Source Filmmaker?
Will SFM require a special model filetype like .obj or something like that, or does it allow all of the filetypes?
Do I have to convert the files into another type and in that case, how to do so?
Is it even possible to find and use the MP3 models in the game files, or do I have to create one myself.
Thank you, all help will be appreciated.
for character models youd most likely would have to also figure out how to rig it so you could actually animate it. since SFM pretty much uses source model files best thing to do is do a general search for importing models to the source engine itself and perhaps how to rig ragdolls (maybe a gmod search for that too). as it seems SFM itself doesnt require a separate model type any different from the source engine games.
The term is porting; make sure you check garrysmod.org to see if anyone has ported them. Then, make sure you set up the faces right. look at the flex controls for the tf2 hwm models to see if you can get the phoneme maps set up properly.
